Friggen lol.

Shut up and miss some body.

Sad but true doomer!! Our line could be better with 5 guys in wheel chairs. They could probley move faster too.

Seriously though, I was just thinking how Charlie should try to get the fire burning more and focus less on how his hair looks and how good his one liners in the press confrence are. I mean we all remember Lou, he would light a fire and the team always preformed. When is the last time any of us heard Charlie say something where we jumped up and wanted to go play, like it was Senior year in HS and we were going for districts........Everytime Lou talks, even on ESPN, I want to fly through the TV and knock someone out. That is what Charlie needs to work on instead of his Schematic Advantage(that no one has ever seen)crap.

Sometimes it is not how well you gameplan it is how well you motivate your players!!!!!!!

i think c'dub has gone out and tried to implement more of a professional approach to the games as opposed to instilling some sort of emotion into their preparation.

i understand that they need to be prepared on the x's and o's, but sometimes games are won on shear determination and i haven't seen that kind of win by a ND team in a long-long time. we almost had usc in charlies first year, but that's about it.

Now that the dust has settled and the coach is staying this is my take. I was glad to hear that some players were pissed because of the way USC made fun of them. They should be and it was warranted. Now is the time for the players to step up, on their own, to take responsibility for their team. Its in their hands from here on out. Weis has done the best he can recruiting and X's and O's. We all know our team is short on some positions but what is there is enough to start over with for next year. They must understand its up to them now as Charlie is not going to light fires under their tails. He is a pro coach and that is not a factor in Pro Football. What they do from here on out is up to them. I hope they are up to the task because the future of the program rest on this current crop of players shoulders.

i agree to a degree. c'dub is the coach, and it's his job to find a way to get his players to win. i coach soccer (and i realize the dynamics are different in both sports) but i still have to find what works to get the players to play at their best. if i need to play head games, scare tactics, motivate, boast their ego....then i do it. of course the players are the ones to execute, but the coach needs to find a way to get them prepared to play their best. so the "pro coach" doesn't necessarily work for me. money is the players motivation at the next level, but weis can still learn how to motivate and become more emotional. the players at the college leve feed off of that. i'm not saying he needs to completely change his coaching style, but he can overhaul it a bit.

You are right on many levels of your post, however, I think that this statement should not come out of any ND fans mouth. If he refuses to "light fires" and its because he is a "pro coach" and that is not an issue there. What I say to that is GO BACK TO THE NFL Charlie.

Think about what you are saying; These kids don't need motivation. I believe everyone needs motivation to some degree. I think Charlie can be motivational, he just chooses not to and if he doesn't start than we will have a new coach shortly. If he doesn't want to "light fires" that is fine but hire someone who will. Emotion is almost as important as ability, that is what an upset is.

I was at the Syracuse game(if we can call it a game) and let me tell you why we lost. They played harder, and wanted to win more. Everyone wants to beat ND all the time. So every week Charlie needs to remind his players: They are not just playing for him or themselves, they are playing for the fans, the university, and the integrity of all those that came before them. He needs to reminded them each day to never let there gaurd down because someone is always looking to sneak a victory against 'Ol Notre Dame.........
