I guess you are right. All religions are cults though. I just believe in the catholic cult and my wife doesn't. In the end that matters none because I will raise my kid to be catholic and love ND and that is the end of it. LOL

Well cult has a few different connotations, depending on the circumstance in which it's used.

Catholicism is a cult if you define a cult as a group of people that gather to worship or follow a particular ideology.

The negative connotation is when a group of people follow a charismatic leader who makes false claims. The group distances itself from society and abandons what are considered societal norms. The Catholic Church is not a cult in that sense.

Becareful how you use that word--it can be offensive.

I grew up about 10 minutes from campus. We used to go rollarblading in the summer on campus at nightime when it was quiet. I was always a fan because of my parents, but just being on the campus gave me chills everytime I was there. I try to get to at least one game every year still, and the feeling still hits me when I step on campus. Its a magical place. I will always be a Notre Dame fan regardless of where I live, regardless of how the team is doing, and regardless of what others say. Go Irish!
