In the bag...? We can't say that about this 2008 team. ND does have better talent all around.. It's just who wants to WIN the game more..

On paper we were better than a lot of the teams on our schedule. Even though I believe ND wins, the Syracuse game showed us that nothing is in the bag. Yet I would like to see some improvement in the running game and some moxy at the end of the game.

Syracuse 24 - Notre Dame 23

Nothing's "in the bag."

But, but, but.... Syracuse faced a much tougher schedule, which means they are better than Hawaii. (according to some here)

Hawaii played cinci tough on saturday night........ I am a football geek and drank coffee to stay up and watch the late game...... Hawaii looks better than people give them credit...... After watching this season...... Who knows???? One thing i do know is....... Nothing is in the bag with this squad.

We probably thought we had the Syracuse game in the bag too.

I for one have been doing a little background reading on the Ranbow Warriors, and I have to say, its not looking too good for us. They played Cinci VERY tough, Cinci was lucky to come away with a W. And they are 5-1 at home this year. Yikes. ESPN posted something clever today like "At least ND's nine game losing streak...will continue on a beautiful pacific island." HaHaHa. Save it. I am hopeful, but would have liked to have seen a better match-up for us.

If we have Floyd we win easily. If he is somehow out then it gets a lot harder.

This game makes me nervous, but, then again, after the last seven games this season, playing St. John's School for the Blind would make me nervous!

Agreed for sure bro...Floyd just gives us that other dimension on O...if forces teams to decide to double Floyd or Tate...His loss was felt in the Syracuse game...since he got injured, Tate has been doubled and nobody else got open...which translates into JC forcing balls to make SOMETHING happen cuz we can't run...I am kind of weary playing in their backyard...I think we matchup well with them...They are a good passing team but we have great DB's...They are close to last in protecting their QB..and we blitz all the time...Their pass rush is decent so we gotta hit them with the run..(hopefully we can at least a little) then throw it deep to our playmakers...The thing I scratch my head about is the lack of outs and slants we run...Floyd, Tate, and Kamara are good on fades but great teams also use the quick routes to get us first downs and keep the drive alive..

i'm also sick of how weis abandoned the crossing routes. watching that numa numa video you see a ton of crossing routes by the '05 team. maybe someone should email the numa numa video of the '05 tennessee game to help charlie relearn playcalling. by the way, in watching that video, check out quinn's protection and also check out walker's blocking. it's very special.

i'm going to enjoy watching the game from the beginning... and hopefully in the end too.

hopefully, our boys will not party too hard in the paradise until AFTER the game.

Anyone who thinks this game is "in the bag" must have been watching another team all year. Can we win, yes, but nowhere near as easy as Syracuse...oh wait, my mistake.

We should be happy to make it to a bowl game this year. 9-3, 6-6.... Weis is working the recruiting trail hard and heavy. Yeah-yeah Syracuse was a major upset... but for this bowl game we just need a "W" at the end of the fourth. Remember... our team is still young... next year we'll be able to hold the line wayyyyyyy better with extra weight and experience that's coming from this years recruiting class.

It'll be closer than everybody thinks. The last time we played Hawaii we won 23-22.

Surely you are not counting on a bunch of true freshmen, to turn the war in the trenches our way?

I heard a rumor that the game will only be 3 quarters long. We will win, no doubt.
