Up to this point Charlie and his staff have been excellent recruiters. I'm concerned at what next years recruiting class might look like if Charlie stays.
The trend it college football is to commit earlier then ever. So far this year, 14 out of our 17 commits committed before the season even started. Given this trend, how much would next years recruiting be hurt if Charlie stays?
Will recruits interested in ND, commit before the season starts, knowing Charlie could be fired later if we have another mediocre season?
Will recruits interested in ND wait till later in the season to commit to see what kind of season we are having?
I guess you could argue that recruits were faced with it a little bit this year knowing that CW drew a fair amount of heat after last year's debacle and it didn't seem to hurt us that much. But if CW stays, he is on the hottest of hot seats and recruits know it.
