Ok answer me this. live tree or fake tree?

i am 28 and i have always (with my family) insisted on driving accross the state or into michigan to pick and cut a live christmas tree. a douglass fir in our care.

most people i speak to about this obviously choose the fake tree beacuse it is a one time buy and i guess it is less messy.

what are your guys take?
does anyone have a favorite place that they go to cut their tree down..

that is why i worded it the way i did . i figured it would get read more if i hid the meaning of the thred

and in reguards to this being the wrong place to post this. i agree. however i didnt really see a place to post this type of question, and this area said opinion polls and this was kinda close to that...

there are farms that do nothing but plant these trees on hundreds of acers of land. and it takes 7-8 years for a tree to mature enough for it to be open for purchace. so i would say if anything we are helping the environment.
michigan has 15000 acres of land dedicated to tree farms. and indiana has over 5000 acres. so in a way im also helping small buisness and the economy!!

my family had the same tree for nearly 22 years and christmas wouldnt have been the same without it. We finally had to retire it last christmas and begin another 22 years with this new one

plus a squirrel might thank you one day
