you two are absolutely ruthless. He played a lot better today than in the pervious two weeks, what was the point of bumping this thread? Why not after Navy when he had 3 TO's last week? I know I am getting annoying defending the kid but damn bumping this thread after he played a fairly solid game seriously? 22/39 for 291 2 TDs and no picks sure cost us the game over the penalties, and lack of a running game, and the 2 missed field goals.

His first TD was a classic chuck it up and pray - was the benefit of an offensive push off. He continues to lock onto WRs and can't make a 3rd read. By the way, Syracuse has one of the worst Ds in D1.

And his 2nd TD was a perfect throw. He needs to get better at reading defenses I agree. I never said he played amazing, but he wasn't the reason we lost today.

Reading defenses is for pros. College should be quick hits, or longer hits following a quick lookoff. Not JC's fault. CW's playbook and whoever hired the guy.

Oh well. My heart hurts for these guys. I think they will respond with fire next year.

Want to see what a real quarterback throws like? Sam Bradford, Sophmore. Oklahoma. Pin point precision passes, strong long balls.

Hey phork, do you notice that Sam Bradford has an offensive line that can block to give time to throw his passes. Phork I also believe that Oklahoma also blocks for their tailbacks which allows them to open up their offense. C'mon your comparing ND to Oklahoma...

Besides all those things you pointed out, Phork also fails to mention that Bradford is a redshirt Sophomore. Compare him to Jimmy as a jr.

Jimmy has to improve fo' sho'. He is improving, and he'll be fine. There are plenty of other issues that are plaguing the Irish, most noticeably the offensive line...

A more stable O-Line would definetly help JC but I don't think he has progressed this season. I thought he tunded the corner in the Purdue game but it's been downhill since

He has improved. He went from a completely overwhelmed QB as a Frosh to an average-above average QB this year. He had that 4 game stretch where he looked like one of the best QBs in college football. Other than that he has looked awfully average I would agree. He needs to improve his decision making, his accuracy in the mid-range game, and his ability to read defenses. In his defense he has no running game, the worst OL in college football, and a playbook that consists of about 5 plays. He isn't living up to the hype quite yet but other than WR he is the least of our offensive worries. Our offense (JC included) is never going to turn the corner until we are able to run the ball, and block much better. The QB position isn't an issue, there aren't many QBs working with less across the nation. He has great targets, but in the offense we run the QB is nothing without an OL and a running game. He would kill to have either of Quinns OL's and Darius Walker at this point. I'm not comparing him to Quinn so don't even go there but he is working with almost nothing outside of Rudolph, Floyd, Tate, and Allen every now and then. I know i'm probably annoying some of you by defending the kid, but throw the hype aside and look at the bigger issues with this team.

Good young athlete with young teamates playing in a bad system. Get over it.

Use your other ID. The funny one.

Maybe moderators should close this thread.

He isn't good and had given very few signs that he can be good.

He has a powerful arm and good size. That is it.

He has given signs, but they have been few and far between since the 2nd half against Pitt. The QB competition should be opened up but right now he is a poorly coached QB with no running game, and no blocking. He played pitiful but like I said before the OL and RBs are worse.
