So is it completely out of the question that if we get smoked again by USC, and Florida loses in the SEC championship game, that Swabrick will pick up the Batphone and dial up the Gainesville Dynasty Restoration Society?
I think Urban would have to think long and hard about his options here. He's got one more season with Tebow, and MAYBE one more with Percy Harvin. I think Florida then 'drops' back into the pack with the LSU's of the SEC. Not saying that's a bad place to be, but where 8-4 is just as possible as 10-2/11-1 every year.
I suppose this scenario could be exactly the same next year, with Tebow graduating it would seem like a lead-pipe lock to me. But if Notre Dame is really Urban's dream job, is he willing to take the risk that Charlie won't get it turned around next season? Can anyone really see the administration letting Charlie go next year if he were to go, say, 9-3?
I have always wanted Charlie to succeed, I seem to be in a diminishing minority that can appreciate his perceived arrogance. However, it is difficult for arrogance to be an admirable quality when you are leading a .500 football program.
I think if Florida wins the SEC title game, then its not possible because Urban is preparing for a national championship game, and Charlie gets year 5. December 7 will be an interesting day for Gator and Irish fans if Florida loses.
Just my thoughts from the nosebleeds.
