The ACC sucks, we would compete well in a Gator match up.
With our non-existant running game and our stout run D against two teams who run the ball extremely well?
The ACC sucks, we would compete well in a Gator match up.
And I'm still predicting we get blown out in the gator bowl. I want the sun bowl personally.
Maybe not "blown out", but I agree w/ you. Short of beating U$C (which I don't think will happen), I personally don't feel that the Irish has proven that they deserve a Gator Bowl or Cotton Bowl invite.
I wish we'd just skip going bowling this year....After NC, Pitt and BC I have no confidence that we could win a lower tier bowl. I'd rather take a pass, come out strong next year and give it another shot.wanted to remind all the naysayers that we will in fact be going bowling this year.
the same is not true for such storied programs as michigan and tennesee.
we are not on top of the college football world yet, but we are definately not at the bottom.
GO IRISH!!!!
Check yer history...we stayed home many years when Fr. Hesburgh was president. Saying it's a not an option isn't valid. At this point, I'd rather not seen the team embarrassed.the bowl game also gives us an extra month of practice im sure the team could use it, so all of you saying we should stay home,it isn't really an option
It's a team game though....tough luck for the kids that really broke their asses all year, but when the team isn't good enough, I don't see any reason for going to play in a game that will most likely do nothing but add to their bad memories of their last couple of years wearing the blue and gold.believe me, i know the history, times have changed since hesburgh, thats why its history, a team like ours better take every chance they can get at practicing, and i think staying home would send a wrong message to the kids that have played their asses off.
I got a bad feeling about this one.Like navy ends up throwing the ball up&down the field or clausen can't connect the ball no matter what and we still have no running game.
I've felt okay about every game(well within the 1st quarter too)so far this year too,but after boston college...I'm not so sure about anything even with my optomistic mind about notre dame football anymore.
No gator bowl either...another great start to blow it in the second half or just a plain old beating by a 8-4 ACC team is what will happen.
The last thing I want is to play georgia tech!!!!! I've always liked paul johnson and had the upmost respect for him,but I would hate for him to win.
By the way a lot of you talk, half you guys on this board prolly don't even know who paul johnson is or he doesn't coach for navy this year.I apologize about what i just said, but really wonder.
who would be possible opponents in the sun bowl?
