Don't Lose Faith in Charlie Weis: Six Reasons to Believe in Your Leader | Bleacher Report
very well written article, with a lot of good points.
I agree with most of what this has to say, but the bottom line is this:
In recruiting such wonderful athletes to come to Notre Dame, Charlie Weis has, in effect,
created a situation of tragic irony - if you HAVE the best recruits, and yet you DON'T HAVE production (5,6,7 losses per year), then one could certainly argue that you MUST blame the coaching. No longer can we fall back on the argument that "the academic standards are too strict" or "no one can recruit at Notre Dame", because Weis has done just that. But in doing so, he has created a situation which will seal his own fate. That is, unless he turns things around, and I mean in a hurry.

The new guy is dead-on!! Reps to you, AH98!!![]()

we are not getting blown out. we are in every game!
Great post.at the beginning of this season everyone was all over the place with predictions. some were saying undefeatwed but alot of people were saying one or two losses if everything went right and we got all the breaks. wel we havent. yes the schedule is much weaker and the heart breaking losses the past two weeks were tough but i feel as though we are gaining so much experience through these losses. we are not getting blown out. we are in every game! that is the next step in progression. i am just as dissapointed in all of these losses because i am one of those fans who feels we have a shot every year to be champs. but i also feel charlie had to come in last year with nothing but freshman on his roster and a couple standouts from the previous year. he is rebuilding a program that was left barren. no depth at any postion and the o line was a joke. he is turning it around but we are still playing with kids at the skill positions and our recruiting the past two years has been stellar. let charlie do his job. i think he is building a legacy that will challenge the all time greats at nd. patcience is a virtue. we cant give up faith or hope. ya gotta believe. this university is built on faith we as loyal fans must have some too.
Only 6?
Good points. I feel like I am back in parochial school being scolded by Sister Mary Rulerslap. !
Point two is the key. Most of your playmakers are sophomores. Most others teams' are upperclassmen. Next season, many of these programs will be losing large numbers of starters, and trying to bring through the new guys. ND will return basically the whole team, I believe. That's a huge advantage.
You had a couple of mediocre classes following the Quinn/Samardzija group. This left you with a choice of mediocre players who've been in the program a while, and freshmen who weren't ready.
This season, those freshmen are sophomores, and you've seen a clear improvement. It seems obvious there should be further improvement next year.
If there isn't, then you look at the guy in charge.
