The women beat UConn in OT today in a freezing, snowy/sleaty/rainy game to remain undefeated and win the Big East tournament. They did this despite missing two of their best players, Kerri Hanks and Brittany Bock, due to injury.

next up, NCAA tournament and hopefully a national championship.

"What though the odds be great or small, old Notre Dame will win over all, while her loyal sons and DAUGHTERS (and lately especially the daughters) march on to victory..."

Go kick some booty ND daughters. Exciting stuff.

(But I believe the fight song was written for the FOOTBALL team, which is played by SONS.)...

uh, actually that version has been around since the 70s when women were first admitted to ND. and based on your logic, I guess they better stop playing it for men's basketball games if it was only written for the football team... better stop playing it at all sporting events besides football...

I'm not demanding that they officially change the words, just saying that it's a perfectly legitimate version that has been around for a long time and that is rather true at ND today... considering that outside of fencing which I believe counts as a co-ed championship, the last 3 Irish championships have been women's soccer, women's basketball and women's soccer.

I know it's not over and anything can happen, especially with Bock and Hanks questionable with injuries. I'm just celebrating the victory today.

I was just messin with ya. I thought I would get a massive rash of... for that post, not such a polite and logical response. Phooey.

Actually it makes more sense to say "loyal daughters" at ladies events.

Good luck. Win it all.

You baited me, with your "daughter fight song thingamajing" and reminder that ND soccer kickin freegin A. You didn't realize I am a 232 lb. catfish that took the bait, line, rod, and fisherman.
