Pit QB Stull ....

Not sure if this is much of a benefit to the Irish or not if Stull doesn't play. 60% completions w/ a 124 QB rating (1 more INT thrown than TD's this year) .....

PITTSBURGH -- Pitt junior quarterback Bill Stull was released Sunday from a Pittsburgh hospital after receiving a concussion and a sore neck during a hit in Saturday's game against Rutgers.

Stull's status for next Saturday's game against Notre Dame (5-2) is uncertain. Stull has started each of the Panthers' first seven games, including the 54-34 loss to unranked Rutgers that knocked Pitt (5-2) -- previously ranked No. 17 -- out of the Top 25 rankings.

Stull will undergo tests and be evaluated during the week.

I would much rather play a backup inexperienced QB than the starter. Now we can worry more about the run.

we need to trust our corners this game. stack the box and stop the run, period. there's is no way a one dimensional team should beat anyone. i know pitt has a couple of good receivers but mccoy is the man. we need to nut up and stop their run game. i am bullish about saturday regardless of which qb starts.

yea i wish pitt was still ranked, a win over a ranked team would have been nice. but do NOT let last week fool you. Pitt is a good team and McCoy will be the best RB we have faced this year, yes better than Ringer. This will be no easy game. We are a 5.5 point favorite so we should win, but we need to show up and play a 60 minute game.

I think McCoy is good but Ringer is the best RB in the nation. Also I think Mich St has a better O Line.

I agree. I like our chances this game. Let our corners come up big. With the pressure we are starting to see from our Dline on a more consistent basis, a new QB playing his first game of the season in ND Stadium no less, I like our chances. Just load up the box and pack it in against the run. The corners will be fine on an island on their own.
