He does get his touches. It's just that every time he touches it, the ball either hits the floor or falls into the arms of the defense.

Floyd has passed him by, and as a coach, you have to play the best players. What Kamara needs is better hands and a major confidence boost.

PLEASE ... Kamara had enough opportunities to definitely be in the top 4 in number of catches. How many times has a CATCHABLE pass hit him in the chest or went thru his hands this year so far? I guarantee it's been more than 4, which if he caught them would put him up in the top 4! Not to mention that his route running has been suspect at times (giving up on the route or mis-direction). He has the tools to be a real good receiver; he's just not clicking as of yet. I hope (pray) that he proves me wrong starting this weekend!

Could it just be a 2nd year slump hopefully he will snap out of it, he has way too much potential to keep playing the way he has been.

He'll be fine, he just needs to build some confidence... having Kumara as a 3rd or 4th WR option I think says a lot about our team, and does not make defenses feel good

Kamara

As a past WR, i would put 4 of Jimmy's 6 ints on Kamara. I haven't seen a post where someone comented on the great roll out away from pressure to the write and throw back to kamara coming across the middle only to have it hit kamaras cheast and bounce off.

He has had many opportunities. Tate and FLoyd have both proven to be doing much better no only in the spread but goal line slants and jump ball fade situations.

We need some early big leads to get kamara in and build his confidence back. He has the talent.

He will have a break out game soon. He is just in a slump...I would not be surprise to see him have a 100+ yards receiving and 2 TD's in one of the next 2 games! He is ONLY a sophmore...he will be fine! He is a talented athlete and it will all come together soon!

But when better players arrive you slowly sink to the bottom of the depth chart.

Kumara has loads of talent and potential, he's not going anywhere. The only reason he is not starting anymore is that Tate and Floyd are making plays, and he is simply not at this time. He just needs to raise his confidence and go grab some balls.

My only knock on Kamara is finishing his plays all the time. Some of the INTs have been in a position where he can turn into defensive back and knock the ball away and he just appears to stop when he is not getting the ball. On the other hand, Tate has done a great job of turning into a DB and preventing a couple more INTs. That coupled with some of the bad drops Kamara has had have contributed to his reduced role. I really wish the call last week would have gone in his favor and the TD would have been allowed. I think that catch could have been the one to give him a boost.

Hang in there Duval, your chances will come!

For Kamara to get a lot of playing time he will have to play over Tate or Floyd. I just don't see that happening. I think both of them actually have more talent so Kamara made a huge mental mistake by not coming in to this season sharp and ready to go.

In my opinion next year Deion Walker could see some serious PT in place of Grimes.

He dropped quite a few easy passes, last year, as well. With Kamara, it seems like he catches only the balls that are the hardest catches to make. Put him one on one and just heave up a jump ball? 8 times out of 10 he comes down with it. Get him loose on a 6 yard slant and put it right in his breadbasket? Drop! I don't get it. But I don't have to get it, to see it happening right in front of me eyes.

I disagree. Hit him on a slant and it hits his shoulder pads because he doesn't catch it with his hands, and then the ball pops up in the air and gets picked, and then Clausen gets killed on the message boards for throwing an INT.

Yeah, it seems that people forget that he dropped a lot last year as well, and he had the dropsies in the spring as well. Bottom line is, last year when he broke the record for freshman receptions at ND, Tate was a receiver without a clue, and Floyd was a senior in h.s. Now they've arrived, and Kamara still drops the ball. Bottom line, he has to make plays. He hasn't. Like I said, he's a Domer, so I root like hell for him. But bottom line is there are 3 receivers (Grimes too) better than he is right now, and Parrish has his own niche as well. Time for Kamara to raise his game...

He's made some plays. He often comes down with the hardest catches. I have to think his head is just not fully in the game. If a catch requires tremendous concentration, he seems to make it. But he seems to flub the ones that require little to no concentration.

I have thought that same thing. I don't know the kid, I have never been at practice, and so I don't know what is going on in his head, but it looks like he just isn't completely there sometimes. I have also seen him on a couple jump balls where he mis-times his jump. Either jumps too early or too late and the much smaller DB gets more elevation. At 6'5", he should be coming down with just about everything you put up for grabs like that. He will run a route and then, just as the ball is on its downward path, he looks like he starts zoning out and thinking about a paper he has due on Monday. The ones off his numbers are maddening. Jimmy puts a strike right on the money and it hits him between the 1 and the 8 and goes sailing off and sometimes to a defender.

I hope he comes around, but I definitely think there isn't much sand left in the hour glass for him. Just too much talent on campus and in bound. It will be even worse when Goodman gets on the field next season.
