A reason not to expect to walk through Stanford is their Coach Jim Harbaugh. He will do a great job at getting his team not to fall into the Notre Dame " mystic" . Every team we play against, always considers it as the big game of the year. I can speak from personal experience that opponents will try all there trick plays, fakes, and any other thing they can exploit. This week will be no different, but the Irish will prevail due to special teams and defense.
Go Irish

One would think that someone who was a part of the ND mystique, would know how to spell it?

They are well-coached, and are even outrecruiting Notre Dame at the moment.

And remember, they beat Oregon State, who beat you know who.

And don't forget what they did to USC last year.

ND 35 Stan 14

ND doesn't have that many recruiting needs at the moment....maybe some O-Linemen. 50% of the team is comprised of Sophomores and Freshmen. Most everyone on the field is a Jr./So./Fr. so the needs aren't that great. We'll see how well their recruiting is going after Saturday!

I'm curious as to why you think the defense and special teams will be the reason we beat Stanford. The defense isn't that great and the special teams.....what are we 1-6 on fieldgoal attempts?:

A word of advice, which with a $1.45 will get you a cup of coffee- most places, should we fall behind early. Don't wait til half-time to adjust; be prepared to adjust early.

I am not overlooking them, but I just think we come out guns blazing. I saw an attitude in this team I have not seen in a very long time. They actually look like they are having fun and good things happen when you have fun. I have seen them get better in every phase every game - not necessarily at the same time, but this team is showing improvement week to week. Saturday, it all starts to come together.

Go get 'em boys!!!!

Thank you Sir! We wanted something that sounded like a rockstar, so we went with Gunnar James.

I guess in retrospect, we could have gone with Braxton Cave too... :)

Congrats on your little guy!

I smiled when I saw this, because my little boy (8) is named Braxton... Hopefully, Braxston Cave is just the first in a line of like-named alum! :)

That is awesome! Great stories! Thanks for the insight! I could listen to stories from former players all day. I remember that '95 game against USC. Keyshawn did know how to yap didn't he? Thanks again for the great info!!!

While Keyshaun had a degree in talking smack. His Insults were so funny I had to start to laugh. I was were lucky to play against Orlando Pace, Eddie George, Ricky Williams, etc.. I was most fortunate to play with the other 100 Notre Dame Teammates. I have had many surreal experiences and times. The best is to get together with Autry Denson and Bobby Brown and tells Our stories. I played against Autry and Bobby in High School and we all still see each other.

I think it's going to be an ND rout on Saturday. Look out Stanford!!

I don't see the rushing game putting up more than 120 yards but I think the passing game will continue to build on what we saw last weekend!

Looking back in a few years, I think going 3-9 last year could of been one of the best things to happen to this team.

I think that season has taught our players a lesson to make every win and every game important, and i think that lesson will ensure that we never overlook any opponents.

why does everyone always have to bust kicker20s chops? poor guy gets blasted at every turn. i realize he was a kicker :) but sheesh we should realize from thus far this year how important a good kicker can be.

dre1919...Congrats on the birth of your son...My son's BD is on 9/28/2000. I believe the Irish will win on Saturday and will not overlook Stanford and it will be a good win going into North Carolina next week where I will be in the stands wearing my Blue and Gold at Chapel Hill cheering on the Irish in the middle of a bunch of Baby Blue...GO IRISH!!!

Thanks for the backup. I think you will be able to see how well we do against Stanford is who dominates the line of scrimmage. If we can come out and run the play well early, the less coverage our receivers will have in the secondary. This should give Jimmy a lot of man on man coverage.

Thanks, he's a cute little dude. His Grandmother (married to an Irish Alum) has already raided the bookstore for all sorts of ND gear. I think he's better outfitted now than I am! :)

Right on! Although I think the ground game will get more than 120. Although, you might be right on with that prediction if we have a game where we start on a short field often. Tough to go for more than 120 if that happens. I think we started to turn the corner against Purdue and I think this game continues the improvement of this team.
