I've been waiting for this kind of performance since we got this kid from Meyer and FLA...He is special..U give him a seam and he will explode...He finally looked like his HS film...because he actually had holes and he is fully over his injury.! I am so excited for what this kid can do for years to come..

I readily admit, I was not as high on this kid as everyone else is. I mean, I just didn't see the explosiveness and the elusiveness that everybody was predicting out of high school, even in the first 3 games this year. I was waiting for his "Reggie Bush-like" qualities we all heard about. I'm a Hughes guy personally, but Allen was ballin' yesterday!!! He deserved all of the carries he got, if not more. Phenominal game. It's nice to have a few holes huh Allen?

I still like Hughes and his down-hill running style to compliment Allen, a la Bush and Lendell White a few years back at USCum. Remember, Hughes was KILLING SDSU in the first half before he got hurt on that fumble. Since then, he simply hasn't looked good. Let's hope he turns it around soon. And Aldredge looked yesterday as well...

I just loved seeing our backs getting into the secondary on their runs. I haven't seen that in a long time. Great game for Allen. I would like to see him put together a nice string of 100+ yard games.

he definitely showed good elusiveness and pretty good explosiveness! it definitely makes a difference when you dont have to stutter in the backfield to get around the DL that are 3 yards deep.

i agree NDinL.A. i really want to see that 2 headed monster as i really think both of these kids, really all 3 of these kids have a tremendous amount of upside and they definitely do compliment eachother well.

i have to wonder if the OL issues that we WERE having previous to this game might not have suited hughes style as much as allens?

never thought i'd say this but james needs some more touches to compliment allen. hughes is still one of my favs but i'd like to see james get in the mix a bit more to compliment.

I agree James seems to compliment Allen more...I still would like to see a Allen HB/Hughs FB or Allen HB/Aldridge FB combination!!!!!

All this RB talent with Cierre Wood coming and the speedy Jonas Gray still not seeing anytime...the future is bright at RB that is for sure!!!!

What was great from AA is that he hit the hole FAST and hard. That is what we need. Don't just get to the hole... Gettyup to the hole and run... I seen that more as well as the oline just straight mauling the opposing line...

When Rudolph and I believe it was Young, pinned that freaking DE to have Allen run for that big gain I damn near broke my sturnum hitting my chest. The play I'm talking about was a couple of plays before his TD run. Almost the same exact play as the TD run. That's ND football damn it...

Allen had by far hist best performance as a college player. He was so much quicker to hit the holes...really impressive. But a mix of the three can really keep some fresh legs in there all game.

I'm happy that Allen is finally cutting some of his runs outside. I like to see running backs use all of the field. Too often we've seen Allen miss out on opportunities with poor vision. Great Job Allen, keep it up.

I was waiting for a game like this as well from Allen. I knew he could actually do the "Reggie Bush-like" performances, but the thing holding him back was limited playing time and a lackluster O-Line. Hell, Bush cannot do anything with a poor line either. At USC, his line was very dominating so it allowed him time and space to freelance. When he first got to New Orleans, not so much. If the O-Line continues to block as they did against Purdue, he will make a ton of special plays. Especially the better and better the line gets.

we need to utiliize the cutback more. with overpursuit in today's game the cutback is dangerous
