Scout.com: Football Recruiting

Is anyone else concerned that we have not landed an oral commitment in a long time, ESPECIALLY after losing to Michigan State, thus making it less likely we will see any more commitments in the short-term? Remember, we had a lot of boys in for the Michigan game, yet landed no one.

recruiting will take care of itself when the boys on the field start taking care of business.

no. it's not a concern. there haven't been all that many commits early on in general. the only significant one was lalota to UM. they'll start coming in toward the end of the season when each school has a body of work to look at as part of the decision making process. this obviously includes ND.

These kids have not even played their senior year, we should probably get a full evaluation before we give away all of our schollys. Also we have a small senior class thus we are going to have a small recruiting class. I worry about recruiting after the season.

I will worry about recruiting after the season. Maybe some of these guys that are thinking about Notre Dame want to see how well we do or if were just gonna suck again. I dont know. All I know is that we have an "ok" class so far with too many 2 and 3 star players. I personally think we should be going after the higher ranked kids but maybe thats why were not a good football team yet.

i'm going to feel dumb if you were being sarcastic. but if not...

this site covers recruiting well. we clearly go after every 4 and 5 star that can pass the admissions process. that's actually why some offers take time to be made...weis has to wait for test scores or for them to bring up their gpa or etc.

there are a bit more 3 star players than the last 2 years but keep in mind two of them are kickers (one from my high school alma mater, dallas jesuit HOLLER). fox, banks, and martin could easily bump up to four stars as their senior seasons progress. if that happened, which is very possible, we're left with only two 3 star players. both the TE's.

all of our four stars are extremely solid. cant wait to see stockton.
