Well not sure if any of you watched the game but Derek Anderson went 14/37 for 125 yards with 1 TD and 3 INTs in a 28 to 10 lose to the Ravens.

I was watching All Bets Are Off last night on STO and I couldn't believe all the callers that want Anderson to start next week. Now granted I favor Quinn since he was my favorite player for the Irish when he was playing, but what do some people still see in Derek Anderson?

I'm guessing they were probably taking those calls to spark debate on a subject where there really isn't any room for legitimate debate anymore.

As for the the fans' opinions, there is a poll on cleveland.com right now on the subject and it's at about 83% start Quinn.

What I can't figure out is why is the whole team playing so bad. The OLine can block this year. Braylon can't catch a cold. Something needs to be done, but that the answer is I really dont know. Its really been a horrible weekend for football for me.

Probably not the best idea to throw him in against the NYG defense for his first ever start.

It makes much more sense to let him play a game against a lesser D and have the bye week to work on issues that they learn he needs to sort out after playing that game.

What I can't figure out is why is the whole team playing so bad. The OLine can block this year. Braylon can't catch a cold. Something needs to be done, but that the answer is I really dont know. Its really been a horrible weekend for football for me.

The OL actually isn't playing that bad (and that's with 2 starters out.) They only gave up 1 sack before DA handed them a big lead. At that point, the Ravens D just pinned their ears back and teed off on them. That's not good for any OL.

Oh, and we averaged 5 yards per rush behind that line.

As for the receivers, a lot of those drops are the result of the QB telegraphing where the ball is going and giving the D a great chance to just level the receiver at the instant the ball gets there. Add to that the fact that the passes are often a bit off the mark, laying out the receiver.....and that's a recipe for disaster for a receiver.

Just go back and look at that pick yesterday where Ray Lewis lit up K2 and the ball popped up for an INT. As Rich Eisen from the NFL Network aptly quipped during the highlight reel.... [Head-On] "Apply directly to the forehead."

I would love to see Brady start, however we are not at the Browns practices. All i can figure is, he must not be playing very well at practice if the 4th quarter rolls around and the HC doesn't even throw the back-up in when the starter is struggleing so terribly. i mean come on if i was the HC of the Browns and Anderson was doing that poorly i would have thrown rex "THE HEX" Grossman in there. or signed someone out of the stands that was 6'6" 220 lbs. nevermind haveing a QB next to me on the sidelines that was a 1st rounder and finished in the top 4 for the heisman 2 years in a row. i think its time for Romeo to get a CAT scan on his head. letting that happen.

You must not be a Browns fan. The fact that Quinn wasn't put in does not reflect in any way (one way or the other) on how he has been doing in practices.

Romeo's ineptitude and mind-boggling idiocy knows no bounds. He started out last year saying Charlie stinkin' Frye was the best QB we had.

One could quite conceivably write a damn book on his bone-headed brainfarts in just the last 3 games alone.

I wouldn't say I am or am not a browns fan. i am a Brady Quinn Fan and i do find myself hoping anderson does poorly so Brady get his shot and hopefully does well enough to keep it. i can say that i have been watching the browns more to see how anderson does. and i thought for sure that Quinn would at least get an opportunity to play the last few series suday. i do agree with you Romeo couldnt coach pee wee flag football with any success. let alone an nfl team! give brady a shot!!!!

No I think its still time DA looked horrible for the first 3 quarters. If Palmer would of been playing for Cincy I really think we would of lost. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens in two weeks against the Giants.

I'm not so sure I want him facing Justin Tuck and that D as his first test. I'm not a Browns fan, so I actually hope Brady can come in after Anderson stinks up the field again for 3 quarters, and be forced to open up the field and wing it around. Word is he's staying late and studying like crazy, so you know he'll be prepared...

If there was ever a time to pull Anderson, it was today at the half (and then again when he promptly threw the boneheaded pick right after the half.)

Dude had a QB rating of 16.4 or something in the first half, after coming into the game having the worst QB rating in the NFL other than Thigpen. He's never getting pulled as long as Crennel is waddling along the sidelines.
