I've always hated USC. As a kid I used to cry myself to sleep when ND lost to them.

I saw an AC-DC video an VH1

I may hate USC, but I love Pete Carroll as a coach because of his enthusiasm. And AC-DC guitarist Angus Young is Pete Carroll without the shirt when he plays. So I love him too.

Observation

I know that different coaches have different styles. But when I saw Charlie's post game press conference it was like he was outta gas. Of course I could sense the pain he was in as he answered questions. But he just seemed beat up. Coaching at ND can beat the bravado right out of a guy. It did it to Ara. And Frank Leahy quit with 2 years left on his contract, exhausted.

I don't see every nook and cranny of ND reporting like some of you guys do. So I don't know if the presser was as aberration due to the injury. But Charlie better start having some fun.

i personally can't stand the ra ra type coaches, there is a time for that..but i think strictly business is the way to go especially after last year, let this squad win some more first and then you can get loose. charlie will never be carroll, but from what i heard he got the team pretty pumped before this mich game and that showed. im'm glad to, the knock on him was that he couldn't motivate these kids.

Man, I'm a few years younger than Pete, and single too. If I had his kind of vibe, I'd be living large professionally like he is and getting more ass than a toilet seat.

And loving it.

to each his own, but i just don't think you'll ever see charlie dancing around the sidelines.

the only reason carroll is loving it is because he's laughing all the way to the bank knowing that nobody is gonna touch him or his dirty program, maualuga looks like a damn nfler playing against highschool kids, something aint right over there.

but let him have his fun, his days of pummeling the irish are numbered.

Looks like I touched a nerve. I just subscribe to the generality that it's better to have fun doing something that not.

I do admire Carroll for his insight on the better quality of life in college ball. I.e. rejecting the soul eating NFL with its 20 plus game schedules as the be all and end all of coaching.

Pete's now working a 13 game season with some spring ball. And making more than enough dough. I may not like USC, but I'm not going knock the job he's done. Quality of the student-athletes? I know nobody can touch ND. Where USC is on the scale, I don't know.

But that's not the point here. Who do you think a kid would rather play for, a living large Pete or a nail biting Charlie? Apart from the recruiting angle, no Charlie will never be Pete, but he deserves to be more than Leahy for his own sake.

Again, I hope Charlie's demeanor was more a function of his knee that anything else.

What are you talking about bro, i never flamed you and you didnt touch any nerves, maybe i'm in the minority but i do not like pete carroll, i didnt say he was a bad coach, but you're blind if you dont think something is happening over there, hes got the best players money can buy! if you look closely at joe mcknight during the usc osu game he wrote "pay day" in his eye black!

enthusiam is good and having fun is good and it looked like the irish had plenty of each last saturday.

are you just trying to start a fight because i actually said to each his own before i started my last comment.
