the problem is i don't think ND has many spots for 2009, so you can't just add Aths without a specific position for them.

Since it is unclear what position he would want to or could play other than RB, you can't just offer him because he's athletic.
There are plenty of recruits that already have established themselves as excellent recruits at specific positions of need for ND.

Plus, i doubt he has much interest here if he's wanting to play RB since ND already has two.

Exactly SoCal, I could see him being offered as a WR if we continue to miss on the already offered wideouts. At 6'2", 195 lbs., he has the right build to play WR.

Why not offer the guy, figuring we take at least 20 guys this year, and seeing how athletic his brother is, why not? It cant hurt you know. Just my own opinion, i mean, i know we already have two RB, but if the guy could play corner or reciever, why not?

Honestly, from what I've heard I am not sure there is enough interest here. Not what his brother is, without trying to be too condescending. I don't think he's camped here and I don't think the coaching staff has quite been impressed enough to give the offer. That is what I've heard. (I have friends in touch with their program, i.e. alumni).

also when onl taking 20 and two are kickers or punters CW better be very picky with who he offers 3 Rbs is too much, i think, if later there are extra scholarships and he is interested offer him but wait for the top top players to decide before you offer secondor third teir players. especially for a prestegious team like ND

I haven't seen Wesley as much as I saw Golden at PJPII, but it seems that Wesley is not half of the gamebreaker that Golden was. Everytime Golden was on the field he was a TD threat and with Wesley not so much. That said, he is a good player and I hope that he takes the field for the Irish in the future!

I agree (2) RB is enough with this class and hopefully we will get 3 WR's that currently have offers...does not leave much room for him.

I would be happy with 1 receiver. I don't even think they would want to take that many with needs at other positions.

I think everyone here will be surprised with what Wesley does this year! I have seen him almost every day this summer and he is a beast, up to 205 LBS. squatted 405 7 times and is in pretty good shape! He was also the 100 meter state champ last year.

Not sure who you have talked to, but it doesn't sound like your "friend" has watched a lot of football at JPII.

I wasn't trying to say he was bad, so please don't misinterpret. All I was saying is that he was not as highly regarded as Golden, not that he wasn't highly regarded at all. If he plays for Notre Dame, then great.

100m state champ is impressive, did Golden win state also? Can't recall.....Wesley sounds like a heck of an athlete, I'd welcome him. I'm not sure about having 3 RBs this class though, (like everyone else said).

I think I recall seeing a youtube vid of him winning the state 100 mter hurdles. Unless I'm thinking of Armando Allen. Too lazy to look it up.

Rivals shows him with 2 stars. I'd like to think he was a bigger prospect being a 100m state champ and all, who knows....

With Evans looking like a possible commit I dont think Notre Dame has anymore room to add scholarship WRs.

'09:
JR: Tate, Kamara
SO: Floyd, Walker, Goodman
FR: Oliver, Evans

That would be 7 scholarship WRs.

Didn't we say the same thing about TE about a year ago, and now look at it.

Don't forget that Eifert may end up there too

Screw RB and WR and just offer him as a athlete. we need these amazing athletes to keep coming to ND. hell maybe the kid can play safety or corner.
