Weis is a master salesman (as is Meyer), so the fact that the kid only lists 3 schools and lists ND as one of them is a great sign. They need to get him on campus, and then show him the attention that Florida already did. If they can do that, I'd say they have a better chance than Miami and almost as good a shot as Florida (it is his home state). From that interview, I really like this kid. We need a very good year here to show him that we are back!!!

If memory serves me correct, he goes to the same HS as Sam Young and Wenger attended. And I believe that they would have overlapped in playing there, so this guy has two former teammates already attending ND.

We may have a shot at Linder by virtue of the fact that he has expressed interest in us at a very early stage of the recruiting process. You can bet that Florida will stay in constant (like daily) contact with him. We need to be very aggressive and get him on campus as often as possible. Meyer will use every resource to recruit him...have other recruits pitch in, have coaches visit him often etc. In the end though, we have a lfetime commitment to the kid if he decides on ND....no other school, especially Florida, has that. As for the academics, Linder simply needs to ask about the football team graduation rate and, more importantly, what degree did they receive.
