It's always hard to tell with some recruits whether having ND in the final grouping is more window dressing than genuine interest.

Jemari certainly has the academic qualifications to think it is genuine, and he includes Stanford in his final grouping.

He, like Marlon Pollard, is also looking to go into the medical field after graduation.

ND will need to get an official visit from him if they stand a chance. But many recruits want an official offer before they do that.

there's a new test that is based on 2000 or 2400 or something like that.

The extra section makes it 2400, but schools, including ND, don't look at the written essay part of the test unless it is used as tiebreaker between two applicants. ND admissions just told us that is seldm the case. That section never really caught on like they thought it would.

like nearly every recruit, if he visits campus you will know whether his interest is genuine.

he's a really smart kid and I've heard he wants to be pre-med, so I think he has genuine interest, but he could just be lobbying for an offer like some have done in previous years. i'm not sure in this case though.

Well, if it comes between us and USC, I like our chances. Although niether u$c or us have offered yet, UCS already has 3 WR commits and at least 4 others offered that rank higher than him on 1 board.

he's definitely not "plan B". i know recruiting site rankings are debatable, but he's currently listed at #96 on Rivals 100. you don't get there being a slouch.

the reason he's just now being considered is because when the staff sits down, they put recruits in their order and i think he was the highest rated WR that had not yet received an offer. so it looks like they will scout him a little closer and get to know him better and he could very well be offered.

as far as the other WR prospects, i think we only sit well with one, two have already verballed elsewhere.

verbal to Stanford.

Stanford and a few other schools you wouldn't expect are doing surprisingly well with their 2009 recruiting class.
