Chris Sailer's kicker rankings: :: Chris Sailer Kicking :: Top Recruits 2003

Nicholas is an outstanding kicker. He has separated himself from the pack. Kicks effortlessly off the ground and gets huge hang time on his kickoffs. A fine young man with great work ethic. Has everything it takes to kick at the D1A level. Also showing that he has the ability to punt. Definite scholarship pick. Offer now!!!!!

he sounds like a great prospect, i'm pulling for Hopkins though. Hopkins has that dimension of putting the ball out the back of the endzone on every kickoff. If we don't get him, i would love to have Tausch.

Welcome aboard Nicholas! It will be great to have a stud kicker next year and for years to come. I'm glad we got Nicholas instead of "what's his name." After the recent defections, I really want guys who want to be here for the right reasons!

I LIKE IT, I LOVE IT, I WANT SOME MORE OF IT!!!!

You DA MAN Tausch, no hesitation, here is a kid that loves ND and I say we have him kick every play as soon as he gets here... I don't care about passing, I don't care about rushing, let's just get this kid out there with TRob and watch them kick field goals all day long

I was hoping for Hopkins but I wonder if Tausch's enthusiasm will be a bigger benefit in the long run. Here's hoping he helps out on the recruiting trail with Lolata, Banks, Mike Jones, Nixon, and all the others!!!!

Welcome aboard, Mr Tausch. Probably broke Golics record for fastest commit after receiving an offer.

Welcome aboard, Nick! You can find some early playing time if you want to "take" it.

From the sound of how good the punter and kicker are this really helps the special teams. Has there ever been a time that ND has recruited such a talked about kicker and punter in the same year (I don't recall)? This doesn't hurt how many scholorships we have to give, to what we need...does it?

Congrats to Tausch. With 3 scholarship kickers, hopefully one will shine!

If he can make extra points he already has won the starting job With two special teams players committed CW is trying to fix the only spots on the team that may have been worse than the offense last year. I never thought i would be so happy to have a kicker and punter commit but i am very happy

No viedo but here are 2007 stats:
extra points - 15 of 16
Field Goals - 5 of 9
made: 40, 32, 30, 27, 25

Also says 18 kickoff touchbacks, but they had more than one kicker and no breakdown of who kicked what.

more then one kicker?

that is very strange if he's supposed to be a top 5 prospect in the country.

are you guys talking about on Nick's HS team?

if so, there's no recruiting or drafting so you don't control how many kids want to be on the team and are kickers.

At my HS, the varsity team suited 3 kickers IIRC. There was the starter, the JV starter and one more back-up. Then there was even a punter. And we were not a big school.

Well, all I can tell you guys is this:

Tod Pfaffenberger 20 of 21 extra points, 2 of 7 FG- made: 42, 39

Rumor has it this kid has made a 63 yard field goal in practice, and he has tons of time to get some meat on those bones and get some more strength in those legs...he'll be a beast, count on it.

that's not entirely true, Catholic Private schools can recruit. Most HS teams have one PK, i found it strange that a guy many are considering the #2 PK in the country would have to split time. I can understand another guy doing the punting, but why FG's?
