Banks received an offer back in April. He also visited for the Blue and Gold Game and came away very impressed.

He called Corwin last week to ask if he could come visit the campus this weekend. Because of the summer break (none of the coaches or players will be around), Corwin let him know rescheduling for a later date would be better. He intends to do that.

ND, Georgia and OSU are three of the teams in his top 5. Many schools interest him for the remaining two spots.

E.J. Banks & Mike Jones. Apparently LaLota & Stockton may arrive the same day, and they along with Banks and Jones are supposed to be shown the campus by 2009 verbals Jake Golic & Carlo Calabrese.

Like I said on the Mike Jones thread- I think this sets us up so well. Being around a couple of commits who will be selling the team already and another who seems like a pretty good lean to me (Lalota), maybe come out of the visits w a commit or 2 or 3.

yea this weekend should be huge, I'm hearing Lalota could very well commit this weekend..we could easily come out with 2 committs this weekend...I might have 2 go 2 ND and try and bump into the boys!!

I initially heard he did not visit OSU yesterday, that instead he went some teammates to Pitt. I also heard he did make it to OSU.

Either way, two things are certain. He did not commit to OSU this past weekend, and another OSU recruit, Justin Green, did.

So OSU is now at 20 commits so far and it looks like nearly every position will be closing pretty quick, since they obviously want to keep spots open for the top top guys that will decide closer to NSD.

Early reports are this weekend went well, so well Banks was close to a decision. But alas no commitment yet.

He spent most of the time with the incoming freshman, who he got along very well with.

It wasn't just fun and games though, the guys he spent the weekend with put on the full-court press. Specifically, his good friend Robert Blanton and 2009 commitment Tyler Stockton were the ones talking him up the most.

More good news from the visit, his parents were with him and came away very impressed. It's always helpful when the parents can back ND up.

the recruiting trail has gotten kinda quiet as of late. i hope ej commits and starts a trend

that is possible, but it may not be because of EJ. many recruits have said they want to decide before the start of their Sr season so they can focus on their Sr season. for most guys that is the end of August. i think ND has 2, maybe 3 possible recruits who have said that.

ND also has 4-5 guys coming to the Michigan game first week in Sept. so additional acitivity may pick-up around then.

End of august... beginning of August... doesn't matter to me now that he commited! Welcome #14 to the class!

It has been said that he could play a number of positions including CB and WR. I think he will mainly make an early impact on special teams and then at CB down the line. Any thoughts? I assume this will close out the CB recruiting and leave only S as a need in the secondary with Motta a candidate.
