Earlier this week coaches Powlus and Polian flew out to CA to see QB Bridgford throw, They also headed a bit north and stopped in to see Brehaut throw.

Southern California for the class of 2009 is loaded with quarterbacks one of the very best is four-star Richard Brehaut (6-3, 215, 4.8) from Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) Los Osos. The offers have been rolling in over the spring and there seems there is no letup in sight.

Oregon State and Notre Dame came out to watch Brehaut throw on Tuesday and the Beavers offered him on the spot to the Los Osos coaches.

Notre Dame went away very impressed when they watched him on Tuesday, but they have a few other quarterbacks to look at before they tender an offer.

This kid just has that "it factor" you can't put a finger on and the on-field maturity far exceeding a rising high school senior. Out of all the great quarterbacks who performed over the weekend, Brehaut, aside from maybe Nunes, was the most consistent and maybe the most physically and mentally ready to lead a college offense. He has that pose and moxie you just can't coach as well as great arm strength.

Brehaut stepped into his throws all weekend utilizing his powerful body to consistently get great RPMs and zip on the football. Accuracy is the area that will need improvement at the next level, but this kid could challenge for early playing time wherever he ends up.

Verballed to UCLA just about as quick as he received his offer.

UCLA was evaluating Brehaut and Nunes and deciding which to offer and it appears it is Brehaut who received the invite to become a Bruin. In theory, this opens the window of opportunity with Josh Nunes. But the coaches didn't bother to see Nunes throw in person when they were out in So Cal at the beginning of may, so it is doubtful CW and Co are that interested, or that Nunes is interested in the Irish.

CW & Co may very well end up with no QB commit this class.
