This is EXACTLY why I love Charlie Weis.... this is a "GOOD" person, you won't find many coaches in the entire league who would think twice about doing this. I hate to say it, but I also thought Lloyd Carr was a "good" person, just not a great coach. I hope Charlie stays with ND until he retires, becuase no one loves this university more than he does and that means so much more to me than a national championship.

I am going to be different here. Whenever Charlie does something good, Maura makes sure it is publicized. That sort of offsets the good deed when it is publicized. There are many unknown people who devote their entire lives to helping people. They are heroes, too.

Did she publicize this event? I missed that reading the article. Bottomline, it was a good thing to do. I'm not naive thinking that he prolly does other good things that I've never heard about. It took me days to dig this one up since I don't live in SB, and it's not getting any national pub as far as I can see.

The "pass right" story was put out by the family of the child, not anyone from ND, as Charlie requested it be quiet. Until proven otherwise, I will take him at his word in these matters.

How do you know everytime Charlie does something good she chimes in??? If someone I knew kept getting torn up in the media as being cocky cold schmuck I would try to let them see the real person that I knew.

CHARLIE IN 08!!!

I live across the road from them. I used to talk to her through email a lot.

Charlie and Maura Weis are "good" people. By "good", I mean they are honest, compassionate, ethical and caring and go out of their way to give meaning to the spirit of Notre Dame.

That very well may be true. I am not disputing that. But, every good deed gets publicized and it is not always the receiver of the good deed who is responsible for the spreading of the news.

Now we know why she does not have the time to iron out the hanger marks off of Charlie's shirts... she is too busy trying to sell him as the next Gandhi.
I hear is latest adventure was to make fat chicks feel good about themselves and convincing them to figure out how to look good naked...I hope nobody thought of this idea first... at any rate you know if he gets this idea to take off she will be ready to sing his praises

I feel we are making them out to be saints. I am not disrespecting them. But, living around here, I know what is going on. A true "saint" would do good and get no publicity for doing it.

I was on another site and was in a thread regarding Junior being on the sidelines holding up plays. I thought it was wrong to allow him to do it. I was banned. I called the site and asked why. I was told Notre Dame requested it. I have no doubt who called Notre Dame and requested it. I used to have my own website. On the night of the Georgia Tech game two seasons ago, I received a phone call from a webmaster of Hannah and Friends (Man, I'll probably be banned for this too! But, it is the truth!). Mrs Weis did not like comments (criticisms of Charlie, etc - not necessarily by me) appearing on my website.

Two plus two equals four. I'll shut up now and not bring it up again.

Even if no good deed goes unpublicized, the publicity does not detract from the deed.

Consider Tom Dooley's and Fr Hesburgh's books.

I am happy for this young man.
