Okay, here is my speculation on what might be happening with the Omar mess.
I think he was having second thoughts with the rumors about Mattison and was considering going to Georgia. Only problem was that Georgia didn't have a scholarship available. So he did sign the letter of intent at a school ceremony to go to Florida. Here is a link to newspaper blog entry about ceremony.

Only problem is that about the same time that Omar had his ceremony, Dwayne Allen decommits from Georgia and switches to Clemson.
I'm speculating that Omar found out about this after his signing ceremony but before he faxed in the letter of intent to Florida and it now looks like there is a scholarship available.
It's the only thing that makes sense as to why scout and rivals are posting that he did sign the letter of intent but later those postings are suddenly taken down.
