Every Saturday during the college football season my father and I meet up with fellow irish fans and alums (and the occasional 1 or 2 opposing team fans who dont have their own bar) at Paddymac's irish pub in palm beach gardens to cheer on our team.

My father and I took pride in staying the whole entire game no matter what the circumstances were; after all the so called fans, and all the alums had left at halftime we were still there watching. Even when my mother or my girlfriend would nag about wanting to go home we stood our ground.

Then one Saturday happened to be my father and mothers anniversary and I was left to hold down the fort so to speak. It was the Saturday of the usc game. The weather in palm beach gardens was terrific, sunny, warm, and i was hopeful to see a competitive outing against usc unlike the past year.

The game went on, and i got more and more frustrated, add that to the bored looks on the faces of the friends i brought along and the usual nagging form my girlfriend and i was ready to explode into anger.

I simply couldn't watch any longer. I walked outside got into my truck and started to leave. I didn't get too far before the bright skies turned to dark clouds, and by the time i was on the highway, the rain was so hard i could barely see the car in front me.

Two miles away from my exit I switched lanes (nothing out of the ordinary, and i didn't drink at the bar) my back tires slipped and i started doing 360's in the middle of the florida turnpike, before finally hitting the guardrail to bring my truck to an abrupt halt at the same time turning my driver side into mangled steel.

It could have been a lot worse, I still to this day believe it was the football gods saying "thats what you get when you turn your back on Notre Dame."

I will NEVER leave an IRISH game early for the rest of my life.

Nice. Although usually when I turn the tv off when they suck.....they start doing well.

Plus....Vince Young (I think it's him) is not allowed to see the games live. They lose too often when he's there.

The last 8 Notre Dame games that I have gone to they have lost. Maybe I should stop going as well.

I found when I got disgusted with the play and took of my ND jersey (to throw at the wall), they played much better. Pretty much everytime.

I've been to only 9 games in my lifetime but they are 7-0 including a win over USC!

You are hereby banned from attending ND games! :)

I have been to 33 Notre Dame games and the last 8 they have lost. I have been to the 88 ND vs Miami game the 93 ND vs FSU game and the week after game where we lost to Boston College...puke vomit. I have seen some great games (including the game where Usc cheated to win when Bush pushed leinhart). I think I may just take your advice and just start watching them from home.

NDOM I was lucky enough to be at those same games (except Miami) and from my experience there was no better feeling in the world during those games win or lose.
Also as far as the USeless game that experience was priceless (watchin' my 13 year old son gettin' all fired up when we thought we were going to win and cryin' when we lost) I am glad I have passed that ND BLOOD to the next generation
