The VERY weak pre-conference schedule isn't helping. Maybe a victory over Marquette Saturday will lend some legitimacy to the Irish record.

That's gonna be a tough ass game to win. We can win but its gonna be awfully tough. Especially in Marquette.

Exactly! Thats my thought as well. NO we have not beaten a ranked team. In fact we even lost to Baylor. So I'm not giving any love yet until we beat a ranked opponent or if we make the tourney we get past the first freeking round.

The basketball team has lost to Baylor and Georgia Tech by a combined 5 points. I know it's Baylor, but they actually have a good team this year (GT does too, as always). On the plus side, Notre Dame handedly beat a good, and imo a top 25, West Virginia team. However, I don't think they have proven to be top 25 just yet and there is no way Harangody is a top big man being as he still can't do anything against elite talent. As Harangody improves and K-MAC burns up some more nets, I think ND will scoot on into the top 25.

Well, as many pointed out, I can understand why ND isn't getting any love. But you know what? That's fine by me. I LOVE this basketball team It's not your typical Brey outside perimeter shooting team. They pound it inside and Harangody has been nothing less than impressive. I just think for the first time in a while, I can say we have a very good inside-outside game with McAlarney and Co. hitting the open jumpers on occassion. Now I don't htink these guys are exactly Thomas, Quinn, or Falls in terms of 3 point shooting, but they aren't a huge drop off and Harangody's play is gigantic plus! This Marquette game is going to be huge and also a very big test for this Irish team. Nonetheless, I believe it is one they will rise to meet.

Come on talk correctly on this board, don't believe they are going to make ANY major noise, not "no." Nevertheless, you are sorely mistaken and I firmly believe, despite my biases that this team is one of the most underrated squads. I certainly see NCAA tourney, though I guess I should wait....and hopefully a better seed than last season's BS

Marquette 92. Notre Dame 66. ND gave up 24 TO's and went 21% from outside. Not a good debut against ranked competition, and EXACTLY what you let yourself in for when you pad your schedule with patsies. If this pattern holds up, whoever is involved in scheduling this team, and coaching it, have something to answer for.
