In three years half will love him, 1/4 will tolerate him, and the other 1/5 will curse his name.
Any questions?

You have to be impressed with what he has done and where he has done it at. But overall, I am squarely on the fence.

On the upside: he's won and won big at WVU. Now many coaches can make that claim?

On the down side: who has he beaten?

It's an interesting hire, that's for sure. I wouldn't be surprised to see him do well or to be gone in 4-5 years.

Bobby Bowden made them a name, and Don Nehlen got them to a NC game in 88. So those are two that can claim that.

Not sure this is going to workout for anyone. He may damage his reputation and Michigan may end up with another coaching search in 5 years. His offense is very new and different right now. Tiller had some quick earlier success at Purdue with his different approach to offense, but people have caught on to basketball on turf. The more you see it the more you know how to attack it. He also may not have the talent to run that offense and I think we know a little about players fitting an offense, Willingham's west coast offense and the players BD recruit to play offense. The Big 10 is much more physical than the Big East and that could play into the long term success of that style of offense.

Downside: This year they lost to Pitt with the NC game in their grasp. Last year, they lost late in the season to South Florida at home. WVU has failed to close the deal the last two years. Hopefully that kind of luck follows him to Ann Arbor.

Today, Rodriguez decided to keep ONE of the UM assistant coaches. Question 1: Does that mean he starts to poach from ND, trying to get Latina?

Question 2: Good thing or bad?

"At the end of the season Coach Weis will step down and resign his post of Head Coach of the Fighting Irish, but....will remain with the squad as recruiting coordinator."

to quote from When Harry Met Sally, "i'll have what he's having."

isnt going to happen.
