Devonte already reports having offers from NC State, Clemson, Florida, and Auburn.

He is also planning on taking an unofficial to next week's USC game at ND.

Cool. Hope we can give him a good show against SC at least....

We need this guy. Has ideal size for a FS. The next David Bruton? Even looks like him.

BTW, DeVonte was not able to make it to the USC game and he probably won't reschedule a visit unless ND offers because his dad wants him to focus on the schools that have offered because of the expenses that come along with unofficial visits.

Was it personally delivered last week? I saw the ND plane take a 1 day trip to Greensboro NC last week.

No, Corwin Brown did it over the phone while he was at school. From what he said DeVonte thought he was in trouble because he was unexpectedly called out of class. Bill Lewis did stop by one of his practices last week though while he was in North Carolina.

Holloman in high demand
By Mike Farrell, Recruiting Analyst
Mar 18, 5:19 pm EDT

MATTHEWS, N.C. – DeVonte Holloman, a prospect who has been on the recruiting map for years already, has built up an impressive offer list that includes the likes of Florida, Clemson, North Carolina, LSU and Michigan.

...

What program does he consider his biggest offer so far?

“That’s a good question,” he said. “Georgia is always in contention but maybe LSU because they just won it all or Florida because they won it a couple years ago? That’s a tough question.”

And are there any offers he’d like to receive?

“Of course Southern Cal and probably Texas because they don’t offer a lot of players out of state,” he said. “Those two would be great. I’d rather stay somewhat close to home if I can but I am not against going to a great program far away if it’s a fit.”

No worries- looks like a long shot for ND. I have begun losing interest in players not interested in us.

I think those that are waiting might find themselves without an option at ND. I know this will be different than last years recruiting season, but still we had the vast majority of our recruits set prior to the season, didn't we?

Avoid the holiday rush, boys, jump on the bandwagon early!:clover:

Devonte didn't name any favorites today, but said the four teams that are recruiting him the hardest are ND, LSU, Clemson and Texas A&M. I think it's a toss up right now. The thing that worries me is that we are up against some notoriously shady teams.

i seen on blue and gold a recruiting update on him and also on his scout page that he was planning to take some visits possibly. Any truth to this????

Yes. I watched a recruiting show the other day where Tom Lemming reported that after the bad loss to Alabama, Holloman and Loston were planning on taking visits to other schools.

Now, it may have just been the timing of the statement, and not an indication of discontent from the bad loss to Alabama.

Many players end up taking official visits to other schools after a verbal commitment. For example, Florida had something like 8 recruits visiting for the Miami game who had already verballed elsewhere.

But isn't that how Coach Lier usually does things, offering and keeping in touch with players that already commited to other places.

He was one of the first players offered in the '09 class. A premium story on Scout.com says he is still interested in Notre Dame, but he mentioned that he wants to stay close to home. Does ND have a shot at getting him to visit? Socal, you read anything?

There's not any real interest here. The schools he lists as his schools of interest are all in the south. He's afraid of the cold. Says he doesn't want to go anywhere in the north.

If he goes to the NFL, he better hope he gets drafted by one of the Florida teams or San Diego and can negotiatie a "I don't have to play away games in cold weather" clause.
