Could the BCS bowls be LESS interesting?

- Missouri beat both Illinois and Kansas, and only lost (twice) to Oklahoma. With Georgia's addition to a BCS bowl, many ADs must be contemplating not going to a conference championship next year, if at all possible.

I don't feel the top 10 teams were chosen for the BCS bowls, but that is not necessarily the criteria.

- I thought the SEC was known for their defenses. But conferences games this year were regularly in 20-30 pts range. Against conference foes, the top 7 Big 10 teams had better Scoring Defenses than their top 7 SEC conterparts. Only the next 4 teams gives the edge in Scoring Defense to the SEC. Maybe an argument could be made for improved offenses....

- The other divisions in college football can work out a playoff without too much intrusion into academics. In only D-1 College Football of all college sports, do the top teams/individuals not face off against each other at the end of the year to determine champions.

I'm looking forward to the Kansas/VT game. I think it will be a good game.

I think Kansas is a fraud...zero quality wins. VT is better than KSt, Co, and TAMU who all played kansas tough.

I don't think VT blows them out, but I do think the Hokies will win by 10-14 points.

They has as many wins over winning teams as USC does. Although I thnk that's more of a shot at USC, then it is a plus for KU.

I'll watch just to watch USC blow out the Illini and LSU to beat OSU. If this happens I call it a good year for Bowl Games.

USC can rest on it's laurels for a season. We can assume that they are great because they have been excellent for a long time now. Kansas is a team trying to emerge that really hasn't proven themselves...no signature win.

I do agree that USC's schedule ended up being easier than it first looked. They scheduled Nebraska and Notre Dame OOC. Who would have guessed those teams would be patsies? And Cal ended up being a little bit of a disappointment too.

Rose: PAC-10 Champ vs. Big Ten Champ

Fiesta: Big 12 Champ vs. At Large/Big East Champ

Sugar: SEC Champ vs. At Large/Big East Champ

Orange: ACC Champ vs. At Large/Big East Champ

That would still give us something like USC vs. OSU, OU vs. Hawaii or Georgia, LSU vs. Mizzou or Kansas, and VT vs. WVU. Still better than this year's debacle, and less debilitating in the hunt for a non-mythical NC.

I think what i heard on ESPN says it best. With a season that not even a hollywood scriptwriter could have thought of, this might be the best movie with the worst ending.
