Okay, all you folks who are more on top of these things than me: can you tell me if there are any other schools with three or more committed players on this list? 100,000 vbucks go to the first person with an answer ...

that's kind of hard considering not everyone on the list has committed yet.

No, it's because everyone has a poll/list and each new poll/list wants to out-do or one-up the other. No one wants to just repeat what Rivals, Scout, ESPN, etc, says so they all come up with their own "unique" opinion.

He is very very good, but I also think that a lot of it has to do with what team he plays on, and who most people are assuming he'll end up playing for in college.

I remember two years ago when we had 9 Gatorade state players of the year? That was the year when Sam Young, Morrice Richardson, Barry Gallup, Luke Schmidt, Munir Prince, Jashaad Gaines, Eric Olson, Demetrius Jones and Matt Carufel were all their state's players of the year. The class this year is amazing, but that class was something special. It really sucks that Jones and Carufel have transferred and several others haven't done much yet (mainly Gallup and Gaines).

That was a good class, but it won't be a great as everyone thought. This year's class is the one that will be remembered as truely special. Last year's class lands somewhere in the middle.

Gip I always felt that way about the 06 class. We had some studs, but the majority of that class was sub par. In terms of numbers it sat well, but we had a lot of 3 star recruits. without looking, I believe Young, Jones, Frazier, Reuland, Wenger, Olsen, Aldridge, Walls and McNeil were the only ones rated 4 stars or above. All we've gotten was 4 stars the last two classes. I think that's why we saw a lot of 06 guys get passed up. Some of them just weren't that good. But this 08 class, is unbelievable.

I wouldn't call it sub par. A better term would probably be better than adverage or maybe good. Keep in mind that most of those guys have two to three years of eligibility left and there are many prospects that don't see the field regularly untill they are upper classmen. Many of these guys were forced to play before they were really ready to do so. Chris Stewart, Richard Jackson, and Matt Carufel were all 4 stars too, but just because a player isn't a 4 or 5 star recruit that doesn't mean that won't turn out to be a very good or great player. For instance W.Yeatman beat out Reuland for the 2nd TE spot, Robbie Parris has probably been the best WR from that group so far, and it's very likely that guys like S.Brown, and J.Gaines could see a lot of PT in the near future. That class was based more on quantity than it was quality but unfortuantly that was needed at the time. We also had several 3 stars both last year and this year, but as I said that don't mean that they don't have the potential to be great. Often guys are hurt in star ratings because they lack the ideal size for their position, were comming off of injury issues, didn't send in a lot of film or attend many combines, or were late bloomers or verbaled very early.

Good points. There's still time for those guys, we did have a lot of raw athletes that year, If I recall Kellen Wade was 215 out of high school.

it takes time for guys to become acclimated to the college game. a lot of the 06 class will be juniors with the ability for a fifth year; so that's three more years. a lot can happen in three years.
