Positions of need for the 09 class

Well now that the nose-tackle drought and wide-receiver famine of '08 look to be solved by the excellent class we have verbally committed, it's time to look at '09. I know we have only offered a handful of guys so far, but what positions do you think we need to focus on in the upcoming season?

We have depth now at most if not all positions, and it's talented depth. We can't bring in the same numbers of players as this year so we are going to be more selective with offers it seems (!).

Looks like we need a fullback, but that is the only position I can think of where we are short.....

And at least 1 RB. I think Brice Brown is phenomenal.

I think the fullback postions is starting to fade away. I feel we could always use more Lineman on both sides of the ball and with Jimmy throwing the ball more WR

I agree that the FB position seems to be used alot less in CW's schemes. We seem to use more 3 wide sets and two TE sets that don't need/use a FB. So, it seems that if we need one, CW could do what they do in New England and use a lineman, linebacker, TE, or larger RB in that position for special plays. it would really cause some confusion too.

Haha everyone wants a kicker - it had better be Reggie Ho's son (or daughter) at this point because I would settle for someone who can consistently make it from inside the 40.

LB, LB and LB. ND needs depth of ILB's that are playmakers. Mo Crum is a nice player, but does not put fear in anyone. Filer is a fantastic start and so is McDonald, but you need depth big time at this position. Further, we need another big haul on DL, this postion needs guys to come in and get a year or two of growth. Because we are so thin, we must force Omar, Cwynar, Newman, Johnson and gang into early playing. DL, like OL requires players to grow and strengthen in to roles.

Hey I'm there for the kicker job...but somehow I don't think that the ND nation would be ok with a female kicker...even if she can make a spot on 45 yarder!!!!

They have finally gotten to the point where they just need to bring in an all around good class to add depth, but the focus should probably be on the offensive and defensive lines as well as the LB's and probably several CBs too.

A female kicker would be great. I dont even care if she can't make it outside of 40; the redzone should be gauranteed points comma period.

We need offensive lineman and receivers and defensive lineman and linebackers.

Need at least 1 RB 2 is ideal
Need 1 TE
Need 1 FB
Need at least a 3 star QB in the event that Clausen or Christ transfer out.

I liked Necessary Roughness. I could go for a girl kicker as long as she was Kathy Ireland. Know any 40 year old, smoking, quaterbacks with any eligibility left?

OL, DE and LB. ND needs to get some studs here, the '07 and '08 classes without question improved DE and LB but they need to get some truly elite players, big time play makers.
