Anderson will not be traded.

Drew Brees - Philip Rivers part deaux

I hope BQ gets traded though. I, as Ravens fan, cannot pull for the Browns. However, I interview for a relocation to San Diego this Tuesday. If I get the job in SD, Anderson stays. If I stay in the Baltimore area, Anderson goes. In either event, the whole QB situation in Cleveland obviously revolves around my career.

If the Browns manage to get into the playoffs somehow then they won't trade Anderson next year. Anderson will start next year as the #1 QB. Brady will see the field eventually...he has too much talent. Sitting & learning for 2 yrs won't hurt him

If DA takes the Browns to the playoffs then Phil Savage will definitely cash in on the 1st and 3rd he'll get after they tender Anderson high. When you combine how prohibitive it would be for Cleveland to match a big money offer he would most likely get in that situation with the draft picks Cleveland would get out of it, you just can't pass that up.

The alternative for Cleveland, should they choose to delay the "decision" would be to give DA the franchise tag. If they do so without a long-term contract they risk losing him and getting absolutely nothing in return when he's an unrestricted FA in '08. If they do sign him to a long-term contract then BQ will not be with the Browns past '08.

The most likely scenario (in my humble, non-expert, not-on-the-inside opinion) is that the Browns take the picks to shore up the defensive line, sign a younger RB (Turner) as an FA and go with it.

This all hinges, of course, on Anderson not becoming this year's Rex Grossman.

You can't be serious. You telling me being 40th pick in the draft is not a high pick. 1st and 2rd pick are supppose to be starter for you club at some point in the first 2 years of them being in the league. Now is they washout that a different story.

Like Kevin Kolb? Aaron Rodgers? Every pick is different, brother.

yes but he is a restricted free agent. They could get some good draft picks if they let him sign elsewhere....just not the Vikings please!

Heh...they're probably right at the top of the list of teams keeping an eye on him. Of the teams that need a QB, they're the one that pretty much needs just a QB, so they could afford giving up a couple picks to get him. Many of the other teams have other pressing needs as well that they will need to address in the draft, so those teams would be more hesitant to part with the picks.

Um, John Beck is the QB of the future because Trent Green is comatose and Miami drafted a smurf.

What an idiot.

So ... how'd that QB of the future do yesterday?

(Three fumbles in on five play stretch and three interceptions on the day, in case you missed it.)

Haha...I really hope Miami goes winless for passing on Brady. I'm glad that Ted Ginn has been so productive that it rationalizes picking up a utility guy rather than a hot prospect QB.

John Beck...give me a break! Sure he doesn't have the best supporting cast around him, but even when the line does hold and the recievers are open he can't make a play.
