Isn't betting on both teams boring? Where is the risk, the challenge?

<---wonders if I can make more that way.

LOL. I lost the college fund already, twice. I've decided betting on one team is riskier than a naked call option.

I dont get what you mean. You mean how to do it so you can only win money, and not lose money?

If you start out with $2, you bet $1 on Boston and $1 on Colorado. Whoever wins (assuming both payout 1:1) you get $1 plus your $1 back. But you lose the $1 you bet on the other team You end up with $2, a net gain of $0.

Right, you bet 1.25 on red sox and 1 dollar on the Rockies. rockies win, you get 1.25 and everything zero's out. if red sox win, you get 1.25, lose 1 dollar... ROI of 25%. Just do it the other way around if you think the underdog will win.

edit: actually if you consider the whole bet, it's actually an ROI of ≈ 11%.

oh, if both are 1:1, that means that the spread is even. you can only earn a return with no risk when the spread is skewed to one side.
