But here's the problem. Notre Dame beats them, they fall out of the top 10. Then you hear "Charlie Weis still doesnt have a signature top 10 win." Michigan was #3 when we beat them in 06.

That would be a true statement. The media just uses the rankings when it benefits them. Just like N.D. beating #3 UofM. After their season went down the drain, it was "well Michigan was just not the team they were expected to be." How about this, "After losing to Notre Dame, one of the top teams in the nation, UofM, loses focus and blows the season!" That's what should have been said!

I stumbled on to this forum and am incredulous reading these posts. You have to be the most delusional group of sports fans I've ever come across. Get a grip already ! ND is a mediocre (at best) football program because it cannot land the types of players that are needed to be a top notch program. It's as simple as that. The same applies to coaches. Urban Meyer went to Florida instead of ND because he knew that he could recruit good players and have a shot at a national championship. The recruiting situation also applies to the players with high GPAs. Cal, for example has Nobel Laureates coming out the wazoo - which means that ND is SOL even when it comes to recruiting the academically inclined recruits.

ND football is dead and has been so for some time. Take a page out of Duke's playbook and stick to basketball - you only need to find a couple of good players each recruiting season.

Is this even worth a reply?

I wonder where that guy got his facts from. ND has gotten better with the guys they have coming in in the last three years. As far as coaches go CW is pretty good and that is why the top notch programs tell kids that CW will go to the pro's. You just have to face the fact that ND will get better ND's young this year and will get alot better and that is what we all know. 1st year and highly recruited players include QB,WR,TE,RB,O-line, LB, DB,and please don't let me forget about CB being a 1st time DC. All because it is ND everyone has got to say something even if it is wrong in every way. I don't mind you coming here and talking football but please speak of the things you know not what others tell you.

hey southaustin. you wouldn't happen to be a TU fan would you? If so congrats on the strong program and season this year. They just got their ass kicked by the second best team in Kansas. I also hope you can get some more guys to commit this year cause they are running out of players. What is it six players arrested in the past three months. No matter who you root for, we have 11 national championships and your team has a lot less and always will.

He found this place after ND happens to win and then he has to tell us how bad we all are. Why couldn't they just stay away?

Wouldn't that be sweet to see Laws and Crum get crazy on them Eagles?

Let's not compare '93 to now. I hate those f'ers, but they were a top 20 team and seeking retribution for a fake punt and a 40+ point loss the year before.

For as bad as things have been, a win next week could spell a bowl game THIS year.

Someone make me a 'Muck Fatt Ryan' t-shirt. I get 10% of the rev if you take them to print and sell them on campus (That means you J-Pham).

I guess ND will have to stick to their Captains of industry, Secretaries of State, and Supreme Court Justices, while Cal gloats about their Nobel Prizes in Hippy-ism, and tree hugging.

Damn. I guess I'll just quit rooting for the team I've grown up with and the school I went to.

Perhaps I should start rooting for a dumb school. Maybe along the lines of a Florida school. Then I'd have more integrity, because the team I root for is a winning team that is not "dead."

Ahh, another great first post from a loser flamer that has nothing better to do with his time. Is it to late to bring SLH back? Oh wait nevermind I'm the one that banned him.

Shouldn't you be on your own board talking about your back-to-back loses to KSU and OU?

Maybe Florida, but you'll never be a true bandwagon fan in "the modern era" unless you root for USC.

I love how all of these high school and college age message board idiots act like anything over 5 years ago doesn't count. They're right up there with the people that don't think anyone outside the SEC plays football and that Ole Miss, Miss St., or Kentucky could easily win the other BCS conferences.
