Notre Dame = same as what you said

Baltimore Orioles = they continue to suck, but this year was especially worse with the whole 30 runs thing and getting no hit.

Washington Redskins - they're 2-1 and have a shot at the playoffs this year, but blowing the lead against the giants isn't too fun

Maryland Basketball - Had a 5 star recruit commit, but he has since pulled out to look at other schools, but still says MD is his top school. They also have a 4 star recruit that has committed so it's not looking so bad.

1. Notre Dame--[ugh.]
2. Cubs--Yippee! Not too optimistic on winning the whole shebang, but any time the Cubs make it to the postseason is a cause for celebration.
3. Bears--Not a great start, especially considering expectations. Benching Grossman is a big step forward, though.
4. Ohio State--I know they're not at all popular on this site, but they're my second CFB team. And now they're 4th, so I've got that goin' for me.
5. Chelsea FC--Absolute wretchedness, considering expectations. I miss Jose!
6. Cincinnati Reds--Haha. Right.
7. High school where I teach--3rd in state (5-0). Cool.

Browns= 2-2 drafted Brady, great so far!
Cavs=looked great even though they have a lot of missing pieces, will improve this year!
ND = urgh....everyday I come on here there is more negative news!
High School = team I played for is 4-2 and it was suppose to be a horrible year. Freshman are showing great promise!

ATLANTA SPORTS (signs you know things are bad)

Braves- Macy's had all their gear on clearance even before they were mathematically eliminated
Falcons- Firestone store sign said "Four free Falcon jerseys for every set of tires bought"
Hawks-Newspaper is already discussing who they should choose with their first round draft pick NEXT year

all the rest of my teams:
Notre Dame- There is a plan. I just know it
West Virginia Football- South Florida?
West Virginia Soccer- Ranked and playing well. until they lost to...South Florida
Alabama-I really think in 2009, the ND v Bama rivalry will really heat up. Until then...

I hear ya about St Johns!! Love to see them and UC be the big dogs in B.E. play.

Let's see......

Bengals: Defense sux
Reds: Pitching sux
Redskins: avg team
ND: don't even go there

UC b-ball: On the rise baby!
UC football: You all know they rock, and I look for them to beat Leweyville and Rutgers.

ND- patience is a virtue
bucs- 3-1 Garcia makes me proud to be a buc fan again but, it is a long season
central junior high school (asst. coach)- 0-4 but they look better week by week
moore high school (videographer)- 2-2 but, the meat of the district games are coming up

overall its my first year coaching and its tough.
ND is still my main motivation.

GO IRISH!!!

Braves - very schizophrenic year. The start of the year, we lit the world on fire and I thought we'd make it even without Hampton. BP was amazing, everyone was hitting. In the end, though....

Irish - It's a struggle every week to make an effort to watch the whole game

Cowboys- EASILY the best in the NFC, possibly the best in the NFL. Pats @ Cowboys in 2 weeks should be REALLY fun

Spurs- the class of the NBA. My first year in San Antonio, we win ANOTHER title. The celebration party that night and the parade were great.

Red Wings- Still the wings. They absolutely dominate the regular season, but F*** it up to a hot team in the playoffs. Hopefully this year will be a little better

1. Notre Dame: Nuff said. But a NC is just down the road in about two years!
2. Chicago Bears: Almost like the Irish and Bears offense are one in the same.
3. White Sox: Well since they canned the Big Hurt, I have never forgiven them. And they blew up this year. But my brother works for them so.....I guess I have to remain loyal.
4. Tampa Bay Lightning: Still early but at the bottom already.
5. Kentucky: Don't really follow them in football, but in basketball they are the only b-ball team we are allowed to root for in our family. But good on the football team!
6. Hawaii: as a former season ticket holder (they were the only game in town when I was stationed there) it is good to see June and "da boys" doing so well.

My sports year has been very up and down, almost a roller coaster. Kind of surprising since I only follow 2 sports (cycling and ND football).

The good: Levi Leipheimer won the Tour of California, a stage in the Tour de France in spectacular fashion, and was on the final podium. A Disco rider also took first at Le Tour, and Team Discovery Channel won best team. Cheaters got caught and were kicked out of the race. Overall the Tour was really exciting, and not just because of the off-road doping drama.

The bad: All the cheating. Floyd Landis was found guilty of taking testosterone, although I believe he's innocent. At the very least, his case should have been thrown out due phenomenally shoddy labwork. Also, Team Discovery Channel failed to find a new sponsor and has been dissolved. One of my favorite riders, George Hincapie, will be riding for a German team I've rooted against for years. I've needed a break so badly from all the cr*p in cycling that I don't even know who won the Tour of Spain.

And then, of course, there's ND football. :sigh:

ND- Their play makes baby pandas cry. Looking for a better second half to the season. Go Irish!

Cavaliers- Made the NBA Finals. Yeah, they got swept, but I can think of a lot of teams that would have loved to have even entertained the thought of being in the finals versus watching on t.v.

Indians- Soon to be American League Champions...(Stand down JohnND...that rest home you call a pitching staff needs a diaper change and some strained peas...not throwing meaningful innings against one of the better hitting teams in the AL...and another thing... Meet C.C. and Fausto..)

Browns- Not playing too damn bad and we've got Brady waiting in the wings. I'm ashamed to say that I've been rooting against them just so Brady can make his debut...but they've actually played pretty well. Should be 3-1

Leafs- We shall see real soon...

...To be continued
