B&G is reporting that Khaled Holmes has received an Official Offer, and thus Khaled becomes the 47th member of the Irish Envy 2008 Official Offer List.

This is a very interesting offer because both Rivals and Scout seem to consider Holmes to be a virtual USC lock because his brother Alex played there. Khaled did receive his USC offer almost two weeks ago, and the Irish offer might be in response to the fact that Holmes did not immediately commit when offered, and also indicated at the time that he planned to go through the entire recruiting process. The longest of long shots for ND, but at least it gives the Poodle and his staff something to think about.

Scout/Irish Eyes has added Khalid Holmes to their Offer List. Khalid is already on the Irish Envy & B&G offer lists.

Holmes in no hurry - NCAA Football - Yahoo! Sports

"I guess I'm just looking for that special feeling that you hear people talking about," Holmes said. "I think on my visits, I'll know where to go based on just how I feel while I'm at the school."

--------USC lock or not, he has an offer and going through the process. I feel this will be alot like Malcom Smith last year, a whole lot of talk and just a waste of time.

I don't know much about him, but if he is picking a school based on what his quote says, one would have to think we have a chance. The feeling of being on campus at ND is simply impossible to describe.

Why beat around the bush, verbal to USC and stop playing mind games. Everyone knows where the young man is going to wind up.

USC has already pulled in an impressive OL haul, and if this continues, there might not be space for him with the Trojans. We'll have to wait and see, but if he takes his time we might have a chance with him.

KHALED HOLMES, OL, from Santa Ana (Mater Dei), California, has several schools including, USC, Stanford, California, Notre Dame, Nebraska, and others.

"USC is my favorite school." said Holmes, "My brother and brother-in-law both played there. USC is close to home and I want to stay in California."

"I hear from Coach Brennan Carroll, he writes to me a lot. Blake Ayles from Lutheran has an SC offer too, It would be cool if we can play together."

"I like the environment at Notre Dame." he said, "It's a college version of Mater Dei. Notre Dame coaches text message and send letters two or three times a week."

"California obviously is a good school." said Holmes, "It's a great academic school and they are very successful on the field."

"Nebraska was the first school to offer me." he said, "I don't have much interest in Nebraska. I don't know too much about them. It would be a whole new environment out there."

"I'm going to visit USC, Notre Dame, California, Stanford this fall and go from there."

Well if he wants to come to ND he better do it soon because I think ND will only take four OL that I would be suprised if that spot remained open for much longer. All that being said I think this kid is all USC's.

Yep,I say he's going to the University of South Central. His comments about USC crearly state where he's going to wind up. Lets move on to bigger and better things. Although it would be nice to take another California kid from USC.

Scout.com: Family Footsteps

---Don't know if Weis should even call this kid again after reading this article. As everyone knew it was a waste of time to offer him and recruit him from the beeginning. If he wanted to come here by mid-season he wouldn't of had a spot anyway.

"USC is definitely my number one school right now and I'd says it's about 85 to 90 percent that I'll pick them."

There is a chance that like another USC legacy MLB already a verbal, that USC may not have a spot for this talented young man in their class.

---Na, this is a legacy thats brother accually played under and was close to Poodle. If he didn't have a spot or needed to hurry up Poodle would definently give him heads up.
