Even thought he missed half of last year's season due to a dislocated shoulder Larry already has verbal offers from Michigan St. and Michigan, but another thing he really wants is an offer from Notre Dame.

Before getting injuried in the 5th game of the season Larry scored 9 TDs, and had over 9 yds per carry.

He appears to be pretty good. His 40 time is fast, and his schools of interest, while mostly from the midwest, are very impressive for only a rising junior.

He looks to be big time. A 4.41 as a sophomore? usually its like 4.7. Wonder how interested he is in ND being from Michigan.

In the article I saw he went out of his way to mention that he hasn't recieved anything yet from ND, but he's hoping to soon because he really wants a ND offer. He's planning on camping again soon at Michigan St, so maybe that'll help him get some more attention.

Larry must be starting to get some attention from ND because he took an unofficial visit to ND this past weekend for the USC game and he is scheduled to be on Power Hour next week.

He didn't take an official visit unless the rules changed only as a senior can you take an official.

MSU recruiting: Touted running back commits to Spartans
FREE PRESS STAFF • March 5, 2008

Touted Battle Creek Central running back Larry Caper has committed to play for Michigan State in fall 2009, Rivals.com reported on Wednesday.

Caper, a 5-feet-11, 210-pound junior, rushed for 1,473 yards on 160 carries in 2007 and clocked a 4.41 time in the 40-yard dash. Rivals ranks him as the 64th-best junior prospect in the nation regardless of position.

Caper also had offers from Michigan, Iowa and Stanford, among others.

MSU has collected five verbal commitments for 2009, all from the state of Michigan. Detroit Renaissance linebacker Chris Norman committed in February, making him the first to choose MSU for 2009. Running back Edwin Baker (Oak Park), quarterback Andrew Maxwell (Midland) and wide receiver Donald Spencer (Ypsilanti) are the other three prospects MSU expects to have for 2009.
