"It took us a while to get 34 schools on board," said Rob Ianello, the chairman of the Division I assistant coaches committee for the American Football Coaches Association.

"We had to get a couple more schools to step up and realize this is an issue that needs to be addressed now. We hope they look at not just the legislation itself, but the whole issue of text messaging and how there are better solutions than just banning it."

-------I used to want Texting to be banned because of assclowns like Urban Meyer poaching, but CB works his magic most with the texting and calling and I think the benefits of it are absolutely humongous for ND because we recruit nationally...

I really don't see why it should be banned. It's an easier way for coaches and recruits to communicate. It's really no different than a phone call except that you can text when in places where its not appropriate to talk on the phone. I'm all for texting, especially since we have Corwin Brown on our team.

I'm sure if a recruit says," please don't tex me " I would think most coach would do so. It's the NCAA banging their big stick around
