Brown is supposed to be one of the most explosive and hardest hitting LBs in the '08 class. He is in the Rivals 100 to watch, and he also made the Rivlas Top 30 prospect in the Class of 2008 in their recently released recruiting yearbook.

He's a stud that could be an ILB or as OLB/DE hybrid that would be an awesome fit in ND's 3-4 Defense and it would be nice to get cozy with the family because his younger brother Bryce Brown is a mega stud RB that some think might be the best in the nation regardless of class.('08 and on)

I have watched his video and he is very impressive. He is definitely very quick, explodes to the ball and is a hard hitter. I really don't know how much interest he has in ND.

Arthur finally picked up an offer from ND.
This great news and now let's hope Brown can work his magic that Weis thinks he can. It would be nice to get the best or one of the best LB in this class as well as getting a advantage that big brother might have in getting his uper stud little brother to follow.

A. Brown, any new info?

A. Brown, any new info?

Does anybody have any new info on this guy. Right now I see us in the mix with McDonald, Poz, and Filer. Where does Brown stand and is there any other LB's that are showing positive interest

I'm not sure how much interest he has in ND, but it is still really early. I have to say though his videos on rivals are amazing. I thought Gallipo had some good clips but Brown is way better. I think Weis should tell A. Brown that he will not take a RB in this class to clear up room for his brother so they can go to school together.

Brown is maintaining a very low profile, not a whole lot of news about him, and he has been very careful not to name a list of favorite schools. Nonetheless, he would seem to be the least likely of the 7 LB's offered to date to end up at ND. He was offered because along with Filer, they might be the 2 best LB prospects in the 2008 class.

As you said, of the 7 offers, McDonald, Poz, & Filer are the most likely to commit to ND. Beal will probably come down to BC, OSU & ND. Shayne Hale, like Brown, is keeping it very low key, but because of his geographic location, ND probably has a better shot at him than Brown, and the last offer, Andrew Sweat, is all over the map, so who knows.

I wouldn't do that and I hope Weis wouldn't do that getting studs at RB hasn't hurt USC from getting if more studs. Bryce Brown might be the best HS RB regardless of class so he should have no worries about being good enough and ND will always take atleast 1 RB in every class.

I think both Browns will have every shot to start where ever they go so competition I don't think will be a problem

I just watched some film on him, and he can hit....hard! He almost killed some of those poor children. If we can get him, along with the some others (Filer, McDonald) we will have a hard-hitting, nasty defense for years. But first, we have to get them.

Both Aurthur and Bryce Brown along with some other local Wichita prospects will be appearing at a combine/workout for colleges on May 16th. ND, USC, Florida, Florida St., Miami, and some other schools have already made a commitment to attend the workout as well.

I posted this over on DD but for those that don't read over there:

here is a great free article about this kid.

http://recruiting.scout.com/2/634000.html

a couple of great quotes - “The comfort level with the players and coaches is another thing," he said. "I want to make sure I’ll like the coaches in two years and that they’ll like me. There’s nothing worse that playing somewhere you’re not happy at. I like coaches that are honest and straight-forward and give it to me how it is. It’s so easy to tell when a coach is blowing smoke."

“I think I’d prefer a college town environment over a big city," he said. "I live in a tight-knit community and I think I’d like that in college.”

“We’re trying to raise some money right now to take visits to as many schools as possible. It’s pretty expensive to travel around the country looking at colleges though.

I think it's great to see that he going to go out and try to make his way and since money isn't as easy to come by for him, I would imagine that he's only going to go to the places he's really interested in. He sounds like a good hardworking kid and I wish the best for him, I just hope he ends up at ND (although it seems like OU is high on his list).

Oh, and his brother sounds phenomenal too - Bryce Brown, running back, 6-2, 205, 4.4

I guess this one falls into two categorys, both the "no stone left unturned', and "bit of a surprise", to me at least.

CW visited with Arthur Brown and his coach on Monday, and apparently elicited a promise from Arthur to at least make an unofficial visit to Notre Dame this summer.

Hey -- it's a start. This guy would be the jewel of the class, but it's still a longshot.

He's Oklahoma's to lose.

i didn't even see OU on his list of visits to make so far.

I was under the impression that its usc, fla and nd, though i wouldn't be suprised to see OU get in the mix, how can they not.

While I doubt we'll ever see another Ray Lewis, the way he moves on the field reminds me of him. There's just such a... suddenness, to the way he moves, and the way he hits ball carriers... I can't even fathom getting my hopes up for him, because he's SO on film that I'd never get over losing out on him.

I don't care if he is only 6'1" and not 6'3", or 6'4". In my opinion he is definately the best defensive player in this class comming out of high school, and quite possibly the top overall prospect. I don't see why some so called experts care so much about 2 or 3 inches and because of it are prepared to drop him down the rankings. To quote one recruitnik I've heard "Arthur Brown is a bad man". I just hope ND can somehow get him up here for a visit, and then have Weis, and Brown work some magic to land him.

Don't kill me if it isn't true, and that I heard wrong, but I'm pretty sure half that equation has been worked out, and that Arthur is planning to visit South Bend.

The odds look very long, but anything is possible.
