Throught the first drive of the second quarter, three of the four QBs have a turnover.

Sharpley fumbled after going 3 for 4 for 17 yards on a drive.

Frazer had an interception on his second series after not completing a pass on his first.

Jones threw a pick on his first pass that was returned for a TD.

JC is two for four for 17 yards, but one of those incompletions was a throw out of bounds to avoid pressure.

I heard on the radio they said that throw by DJ was very risky and just lobbed it up there, sounds good for Parris for catching it though

Last drive of the 2nd hald, Junior Jabbie lit it up. He had 52 yards on 7 carries and a 4-yard reception. Time ran out before the FG unit got on the field.

Sullivan appears to have injured his ankle and was carted to the locker room.

By the sound of this game it sounds like a Clausen/Sharpley battle with Dj 3rd and Frazer 4th, thats what im taking from it.

I agree. It sounds like its a JC and Sharpley battle, but I could be wrong.

I just got back. Hmmm. Was the offense bad, or has the defense improved that much? Allen was ok, missed a block or two. Clausen looked ok in brief action. Frazier didn't look that hot to me, DJ up and down. There were lots of sacks (tap downs). It was pretty dull overall, but a nice day for it.

who looks to be the top two QBs Junkhead? just following a blog, so I don't really have the perspective you had being there.

I just got back from seeing the majority of the game and in my opinion I think it will be between Claussen and Jones. Claussen looked more poised as a passer but Jones can really run. I believe were gonna see a lot of Allen this year because he is quick and elusive. Defense looked more aggressive and seemed to shift alot possibly making reads a little harder so I think there will be a slight improvement(can't be any worse).

Clausen would be one of two. I really didn't see anything outstanding between Jones or Sharpley. The offenses were flat, there really weren't any big plays that I saw either. I wouldn't totally count Frazier out, but he had a couple of really questionable throws. Allen hit the hole quick, but didn't have much room to open it up. Aldridge didn't do much, Thomas had a few ok runs. Junior Jabbie had the best showing of the backs. He didn't look lightning quick, but he found a few good holes.

sounds like the defense really played well.usually the defense out plays the offense in these type of games.

I would have to go with Clausen and Sharpley as well

Definately. While none had a great number of opportunities to throw the rock, both DD and Frazier threw some absolute duck farts. I was most impressed with Clausen. He threw one out pass from the far side of the field on a rope and in perfect timing with the receiver's cut. Anyone who questions this young mans arm strength or whether he has an injured wing better go look at the film. He also showed great decision making skills while throwing away balls that other young fellas would have tried to force into tight quarters.

I think Sharpley will be one of the 2 QBs. Weis wants someone that can run the offense and he did a good job. He had one fumble, but got it back. He was one then that kept the Gold team out there some much running. It was said that Weis wanted to show a running game and not a passing show. Sounds like he was afraid to have the QBs show too much. It had to be hard to get going when you only play a few times, but Clausen did look good.

I also notice that the fullbacks were in more this year and shifted a lot. I think we will see both of them used more this year then in the pass. Also I think Yeatman had a game before the B&G game, so I would not worry about his drops. He had to be tired!

The concern I have is our D on the running game. With very little passing and knowing they were going to run, they had a hard time of stopping the run.

Our CBs were also back off the line and not as close to the WRs as I thought they would be. From what I have been hearing I expected to see more trying to jam the WRs at the line.

Clausen made great decisions
liked the duck fart example way funny many reps
agree with defense didn't impress at all but they were generally in the right position...but I do agree they played off the receivers to far

IMO, Frazier is higher than DD for sure. Clausen looks to be one of the top two, from this ONE "practice" that we saw, but I couldn't really differentiate between Sharply and Frazier that much. DD's throws definately looked suspect in many way, Sharpley doesn't appear to have much arm strength, Frazier can be off-target at times. Claussen was the only one to not show much weakness in the game, and made many good decisions regarding throwing it away under pressure.

Still, remember that this game doesn't mean ANY more than any of other practices. One person could have been having an off day, and another having a great day. We don't know. So don't be shocked if the decision surprises you, because they are examining the entire body of work over spring, not just this one scrimmage that we get to see. With this is mind, and going on what i've gleaned from other sources on the internet and on campus, I predict that Clausen will be one of the two, and that Jones will not be.

I saw that one practice when they let the cameras in for the full practice and Clausen was throwing the smoothest and i saw Sharpley throw a int. during the practice. Dj was inaccurate and Frazer looked solid. Adding to that are some guys that went to the coaching clinic and said most of the coaches attending said Clausen was the most ready. Adding to that the Blue & Gold game i took from that, that Sharpley and Clausen had the best days. In my opinion is a Sharpley/Clausen battle that is all...

I was not impressed with zack and I thought I would be, JC looked the best to be honest and here is why I feel that way...his only screw up was a time managment deal...when nothing was available he got ride of it...his few pass attempts did look decent...not great decent...DJ looked out of sorts but man does he have wheels...get him to pass well he would be very dangerous...evan just didn't impress me not nothing big he just didn't impress me
