Possibilities for next OL offer

Now that Trevor Robinson has verbally committed to Nebraska, look for the Irish to offer another OL shortly. Robinson was the only true OG on the Irish offer list, so look for the offer to go to a similar OG type guy.

Possibilities for next OL offer:

1)James McIver- 6’4”, 346 from Atlanta- The big kid from GA loved ND last month and sounded like he would commit on the spot if offered, when he did not hear anything started to favor GA Tech, but his only actual offer is from Vanderbilt. An actual ND offer could change his mind.

2) Steven Robinson- 6’3”, 310 from Tallahassee- Rivals had him listed as an offer for a while, and then took him down. Scout now lists him as an offer, but there is no confirmation of it. ND has definitely shown interest, and now may make the interest official. Another Florida recruit, though from Seminole land, Robinson seems to be very high on Auburn.

3) Nick Lepak- 6’5”, 340 from Auburn, NY- Another huge kid who loves ND, but is considered to be a very raw talent. Nebraska also showed interest but with Robinson commit, they will not offer Lepak, whose only offer thus far is from Syracuse. Lepak is planning a visit to South Bend.

4) Zebrie Sanders- 6’5” 273 from Clayton, OH- A lot of people think ND will offer Sanders, and they may, but I do not see it happening right away. The next OL offer is probably going to an OG type like Trev Robinson, and the three guys listed above. Sanders favors Georgia, OSU, and USC right now, but only Georgia has offered, and it is unlikely that OSU will offer at all. Sanders would love to have an ND offer in hopes that it would attract USC, but I don’t see that happening right now.

5) Vaughn Dotsy- 6’5” 346 from Ventura, CA- Dotsy is a teammate of Irish RB offer Darrell Scott. Has shown some slight interest in ND, and has not yet received an offer from USC. If there were any real justice in the world, the Irish would be able to pull off a Scott/Dotsy tandem from a USC suburb, but I’m just dreaming because as we all know there is no real justice in the world. Anyway, Dotsy might still see an ND offer to see if there really is any interest.

I think Steven Robinson is probably the best guard in the entire class so he would be my first pick. Other then him Zach Schlink would be another good guard prospect.

mybe m. patchan

There is some sentiment that officially offering Patchan a few days ago was in response to the staff feeling that they knew thay had lost Trevor Robinson. I don't buy it though because Patchan is definitely not going to play OG in college. He is a tall, quick, lineman who should be great in pass protection against speed rushers on the outside. Patchan has been talked about being offered for quite a while and making it official probably means that Patchan has expressed some further interest in ND. However, going to a Gator feeder school like Armwood will make it very difficult for the Irish to successfully recruit Patchan.

I say he goes to Miami, didn't his dad play there?

Let's hope the dad thing doesn't play out too much this year, otherwise, ND would be in trouble on McDonald, and have no chance for Beal, where both parents went to BC. Patchan's dad did play for Miami, but Patchan transferring to Armwood for his senior year says to me that Florida has the edge. At the end of the day it will most likely be a tossup between the Hurricanes and the Gators.

I think without a doubt that Vaughn Dotsy will be getting alot more attention from ND now that Robinson is off the board.

It appears as though Kenneth Page is the next OL offer. However, Page is another DT and his offer probably has little to do with Trevor Robinson's verbal commit. Look for yet another OL offer to go out between now & the B&G game.
