Once the mission of taking out the Bath party and getting rid of the Republic Guard was accomplised. Which by the way was the first part of the plan. Then came the second phase of "Stability and Reconstruction of Iraq". The Stabiltiy and Reconstruction can only be accomplished by the Iraqi people for the Iraqi people. The Military should've been in the "training mode" ref Iraqi stability right now. We should've completed the training of all Iraqi police and military by now. The problem is that the 270 member cabinet that is sitting in the Green zone is still splitting hairs over the Shite/Sunni/Kurdish power struggle, along with this you have Al Sadr and his mulitia causing numberous problems with Sadr City, to which the President of Iraq will not allow U.S. troops to qwell Al Sadr because of his overall political and financial power. To further compound this, all the Mil-to-Mil talks that have taking place between the U.S and Gulf States have yet to come up with a solid solution of what "Stabiltiy and Reconstruction" will actually look like. This is our short coming ref Iraq plain and simple, the promises that were given to the U.S. prior to the War have now subsided and the U.S. most start all over again reference political and military talks. Believe it or not Saudia Arabia and Kuwait could be the biggest losers in the War, ref stability if we pull the troops out now. Gulf countries will not enter the war due to there own fear of sectarian violence within their own countries. They are glad the U.S. is doing all the dirty work for them. All Gulf countries are weary of an early pull out, for fear that Iran takes over the Iraqi region and puts a strangle hold on this area. Either way the troops will be out of the war by the next election. President Bush and company are portray as arrogant and dumb moreso by our own media then foreign media. But the fact is, Congress voted alongside the President (Dem/Rep/Ind) and so did the Amercian people.

People hate Bush for both elections that he won. The war just gives them an excuse to either bash him, or gain political power. All those people said the same stuff about Saddam and his weapons that Bush said, are now voting to defund the troops and saying Bush lied. It's all a game to them, I would not let yourself be pulled into their B.S.

It is not true that everybody was saying that stuff about Saddam and his weapons. Maybe most of the politicians were, including Democrats (and maybe that's what you meant?). However, if I remember correctly, not everybody was going along with what was being said.

In addition, there is the concern that selective intelligence, and pressure put on the intelligence community (especially from Cheney?). These are legitimate concerns, and if there is some truth to them, than the administration misled other members of the government, thereby, skewing their conclusions.
