Over on ESPN's NFL Draft page, the headlining artical written by Len Pasquarelli states that the Texans may be looking to trade up in order to draft Brady. Now I'm not an ESPN insider so I don't really know what the body of the article states and if the headline is just bait to get readers or if there is logical evidendce behind the statement, however, that could be a very interesting move. Though I would hate to have to see Brady running for his life again with a pourous o-line, it could be an interesting place to go see him play.

Isn't Kubiak supposed to be a Qb guru?? I think the Texans just signed a free agent tackle as well. It might not be so bad for BQ if true. Still better than the Raiders.

It says that they need to trade Carr. They also believe that they need to get ahead of Minny. So he allueded that the Texans and Redskins already of a deal in place to switch spots if Brady is still there.

Yea, thats what I just picked up on another board. They stated that as long as Quinn is still on the board at # 6 the Texans and the Skins already have a deal in place. We could see some good dealing going on if the Phins or Viks want in now with this news....Clevland could also really benefit if they are willing to pass on Quinn in order to pick up some picks and players. I love this stuff, it gets pretty exciting when we close in of the draft. Reminds me of when I play Madden and trade away alot in order to get all my picks in the first three rounds.

I still firmly THINK that the Browns are going to select B Quinn. Simply based on the fact that Charlie gave R Crennel such a glowing review of Quinn.

And the fact that the Browns don't have a qb that can throw the ball 30 yards.//

I'm not sure, after seeing how Reggie Bush (and i'm not comparing Peterson to Bush, only that they are both quality running backs) helped to turn around the Saints I could see Romeo believing that taking a running back of Peterson's quality could produce results faster than a rookie QB in a new system. Much like the Saints prospered with the dual RB threat of Bush and McAllister, I could see that logic being employed in Cleveland. Throwing a rookin Qb into the NFL, though I believe Brady is probably the most NFL prepared QB to enter the draft in some time, is a risky proposition. I have no fears that Brady will prosper into one of the leading Qbs in the NFL in a few years, however with an organization and coach that need instant results and a fairly successful blueprint laid out by the Saints last year, I could very well see the Browns wanting to go the quicker and safer route of Peterson with the draft.

And by the way, Charlie Frye isn't a horrible option to have at QB there in Cleveland. It just so happens that he doesn't have the best weapons or O-line around him in order to prosper.

I'm fairly sure now that the Browns will be taking Peterson. The just traded Reuben Droughns to the Giants for Tim Carter.

Quinn won't do well in Houston until the Texans get a LT.

Who even knows if David Carr is that bad? Give him a better supporting cast or at least...a chance to stay in the pocket, & he could be a quality QB...we won't know till it happens. which makes me NOT want Quinn to get picked up by the Texans. He'll be dealt a similar fate as Carr & go down as another overhyped ND QB bust.

I heard on ESPN radio that the concern w/ Quinn is his ability to make the intermediate pass. Of course the quote was from an unnamed source who is close to the draft discussions. I think I heard it on Dan Patrick's show. Leave it to ESPN to keep making up more of Quinn's supposed shortfalls. Furthermore, if I hear Greenberg of Mike & Mike in the Morning orally roll his eyes on the radio when discussing whether Quinn is a legitimate NFL talent & possible marketing success, I'm gonna drive up to Bristol & wring his damn neck! It doesn't help that Golic comes off as a buffoonish ND homer.

Peterson has health risk issues that make him a concern in my mind. And NO didn't make it to the NFC title game because of Bush, that had more to do with Sean Payton and Drew Brees coming in, Bush wasn't even the best rookie on his team last year. Plus, Aaron Brooks held that organization back for years. I just believe that if you don't think Frye is the QB of the future there you can't pass on someone like BQ. It's very rare that you become year in and year out contenders without a franchise QB, you can probably name the SB champs on one hand that didn't have a really good QB when they won the title. And as far as the Jamal Lewis deal, I think if he shows he can still play close to what he did in his 2000 yard year he might get a new deal after next year.

The Texans just signed former ND O-lineman Jordan Black to lock down the left or right tackle position. Black started 16 games last year for the Chiefs. I don't think Black was there when Brady started playing his freshman year. Black has played left tackle during his years in the NFL. Here's the link:

David Carr's offensive line is not the problem with him, he just flat out is not a good QB. If you watch anything on him, he does not know when to get rid of the ball. He will hold the ball in the pocket for twice as long as a good quarterback would.

In defense of Carr, if he threw the ball away every time he was "supposed to," every Texans possession would be 3-and-out. Carr's receivers are terrible at getting open, so he has two choices: hold on to the ball way too long and pray a linebacker slips, or throw the ball away when he's "supposed to" 3 downs in a row and punt it on 4th-and-10. At least by holding on to the ball too long there's a chance, albeit slim, that he'll be able to complete a pass and gain some yards... or he'll get sacked because his offensive line couldn't even block me, let alone most NFL defensive lines.

David Carr is the reason the Texans lose games 41-13 instead of 41-0. I'd welcome him with open arms to ANY of my Florida teams, especially the Dolphins.

I just found out on Thursday that I am moving to Houston from Chicago via a promotion. Brady Quinn would be a fantastic housewarming gift as I start to shift my allegiances to a new city. I was actually a big David Carr fan as he was coming into the league, but I'll drop him like a bad habit if I can have BQ as the starting QB for my new hometown team.

COME ON TEXANS!!!

I now live in Austin but would love the chance to get back to Houston. One thing you will miss is any real pizza, unless you call Papa John's or Dominos real pizza.

I was a Carr supporter until this past season (yes I am a Texans fan), he made a lot of bad decisions and also had some issues with fumbles. As a ND fan I am torn about wanting Quinn or wanting Levi Brown or Landry. Not because I think Quinn will not succeed on the team but because if the O-line is not better no QB will workout in Houston. Houston's secondary sucks neither safety is worth a crap, hence the mention of Landry.

If Quinn is here I will be overjoyed, I just hope he sits one year to learn the system and the team can improve around him and then he can start and not get killed and be shell shocked like Carr is.

This just in, our favorite:rolleyes: ESPN draftnik Todd McShay, :jerkit: of all people, has just moved Brady up to #2 on his latest mock draft. Obcourse in doing so he does manage to throw a little insult out at the same time. This was published today, bit I will not link it because the :censored: doesn't deserve the hits.

Updated: March 12, 2007

Quinn moves up to No. 2 By Todd McShay

With the combine in the rearview mirror and a number of key pro day workouts in the books, it's time for my fourth mock draft.

1. Oakland Raiders (2-14)
Projected pick: +JaMarcus Russell, QB, LSU
Georgia Tech WR Calvin Johnson will be tempting if a deal is made to move WR Randy Moss between now and the draft. Otherwise, the Raiders have a glaring hole at the quarterback position. While some concerns have risen regarding Russell's work ethic, owner Al Davis should still favor the strong-armed Russell over Notre Dame QB Brady Quinn.

2. Detroit (3-13)
Projected pick: Brady Quinn, QB, Notre Dame
Quinn moving up six spots in this mock has more to do with the Lions than Quinn's actual draft stock. By addressing needs at running back (Tatum Bell and T.J. Duckett), offensive tackle (George Foster) and defensive end (Dewayne White) via free agency, the Lions have the flexibility to pull the trigger on a future franchise quarterback with this pick. The Lions could also get a blockbuster trade offer for the No. 2 overall pick, which would be the best-case scenario considering their abundance of needs.

After reading McShay's comments again, I don't know whether to be happy for Brady if McShay is right, or just go ahead and :puke: at the guy's comments. McShay was obviously caught with his pants down after all of his talk about Quinn's stock dropping at the combine, which it never actually did by all unbiased accounts. Now that even people at his own network are starting to change course on Brady, and all the talking heads are saying his stock is rising again, McShay has to save face by putting Brady at #2, but true to form he throws a back handed slap at the same time. If the reverse were true and Brady did not get drafted until the 10th slot because no one needed a QB in the top 9, I am sure McShay would have attributed it to his opinion of Quinn's lacking talent. What a hypocrite!
