Beal has better size, but if Poz is anything like his brother, you almost have to go with him. I really hope we get both of them.

A legacy kid or a kid w/ better physical attributes - that's a tough call. Maybe Poz can play at SS and Beal can be a LB, that would work out very nicely :)

I brought this up under another thread as well, I think we need to bring in 5 or 6 LBs!

5 LBs
3 DE (or DT, whatever u'd like to call it)
1 or 2 NT
2 CBs
1 Safety
3 Receivers
2 TEs
1 RB
4 OL

That's 21. We might also get a QB (Crist) so that would put us at 22. It's a real shame we won't be taking the full 25

Which one is a legacy? I thought Beal's family ties are to BC and Poz to Penn St

Sorry, I meant Poz since his older brother just finished playing for Penn St and was an OUTSTANDING linebacker for them winning several awards.

But we can't take a full 25. We only have 85 scholarships. If kids stay all four years, that means we'll have 100. Since we are a four year institution that graduates all its athletes, we simply can't take 25 a year. 20 a year gives us 80 plus some room for 5th years and walk-ons. We are right on target, and there's no shame involved.

In using the word shame, I meant it's too bad we can't take 25 since we seem to have a great deal of interest from recruits and there are so many quality athletes and we have a lot of needs to be filled.

Agreed, 25 would be too many ever year and 20 sounds about right, but there will be transfers and kids will leave as juniors so you can't count that out either. I hope we take 21 or 22 this year, but most importantly, I hope we fill all of our holes

Personally, I think if Weis wants gets 25 guys who are interested and he can get to commit he'll take a full class. I mean we landed 18 last year, but if you take into acount the 2 that switched on signing day, JT going UF, and then the fact we probably lost 3 or 4 guys that were suppose to be coming to Nd we would have had a full class this past cycle. We need players and we need depth, you can sign smaller classes in the years ahead but for now I think if CW can get 25 really good guys he'll take everyone of them. Obviously you can't take 25 a year, and CW has said that he plans on 20 a year once he gets the program back on track as far as numbers.

We really need a good LB haul this year. Gotta go with POZ tho, if anything for how his bro played. I do think CW will get 22-25 this year.

but he can't get that number this year. just run the numbers. weis inked 15 his first year, 28 his second, and 18 his third. that's 61 scholarship players. taking 21 in this class will make 81, leaving only 4 spots available for 5th year players.

weis isn't going to take more than 21. count on him taking only 20.

I think that ND will bring in a huge LB class if they can get the quality they want.

Why do you need to choose between Poz or Beal, they are different types of LB's and don't get too caught up in numbers not to say that Beal isn't good but there are alot guys on paper who have great size and speed but just aren't that good.

Poz in ND's 3-4 defense would be the weakside inside LB whereas Beal is is more of the LB/DE hybrid that could play as the strongside insode or outside LB.

Why do you think 2 Tight Ends ? I would have thought one a year similar to future Quarterback recruiting.

One of the TE recruits specifically mentioned that CW planned on taking 2 this year. It may have been Randolph.

Charlie has said he wants a total of five on the roster at all times.
