Meyers attended Notre Dame's Junior Days on March 3-4, and left anticipating that he will receive an ND offer shortly. Link to free Scout profile page with headline about recent visit to South Bend.

He lists ND as one of his top 2 choices along with Florida. Meyers already has an offer from Florida where his father Glenn played nose tackle in the early 1980's. He does have a connection with ND as well, as he attends the same high school that 5th year senior Center, John Sullivan, graduated from, and Meyers is John Sullivan's younger brother's best friend.

MORE OFFERS FOR MEYERS — Greenwich's Jonathan Meyers picked up two more offers, from Oklahoma and Colorado this week, the fullback/linebacker wrote in an e-mail to the Connecticut Post on Saturday.

Meyers said he had a great conversation with Oklahoma linebacker coach Brent Venables. “He really liked the way I play at linebacker,” said Meyers, who said head coach Bob Stoops will be visiting Greenwch in the next two weeks to finalize the offer.

Colorado defensive coordinator Ron Collins offered Meyers after talking to linebackers coach Brian Cabral and watching Meyers' game tape. Meyers said Colorado will be visiting on May 11.

“There are a lot of kids from Greenwich who go to Colorado and love it,” Meyers said. “I'm interested in learning more.”

Meyers, who has offers from Nebraska, Florida, Purdue, Virginia, Duke, Maryland and Northwestern, said several other schools are only just beginning to learn about him.

“It seems being from Connecticut and New England in general there is a lag in getting noticed on a national basis, compared to the Midwest, Southeast and California,” Meyers said in his e-mail.

Meyers said Michigan, UCLA, Miami, Wisconsin, Syracuse, Vanderbilt, California, Iowa, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Penn State and Georgia Tech have all recently expressed an interest in visiting Greenwich during the May evaluation period.

He said he expects to narrow the list down to five for his official visits.

“I would like to make a decision as soon as possible, but have come to understand the importance of this process and that I am not just making a four-year decision, but a 40-year decision,” he said.

-------Sounds an awful lot like what Weis says to his recruits doesn't it? This kid used to have Florida and ND as his top 2 choices, but i guess since has changed because he hasn't gotten an offer from ND. Has a nice list of offers obviously and i'd assume we'd be back in the thick of things with an offer, but the hot streak Florida is on right now, with an offer and being a legacy will be hard for him to turned down. Plans on taking all of his officials so that's a good thing, we'll see what happens if our coaches visit him this month or not.

Meyers is a kid that is probably getting played by the Cockwad. He would most likely have already committed to the Gators if Urban would have let him, but he falls into that category of someone who might be not good enough to take up one of those 17 Gator offers available this year. This presents both an opportunity and the possibility of a problem for the Irish, as if they offer him, he might accept, but what if Urban still has a slot open for him as NSD approaches. How sure can you be of this committment, given the legacy factor. I don't see him being offered by ND, at least not in the next few months, it's just too risky given the limited amount of schollies that ND also has to offer this year, and CW's ethical approach to accepting verbals from kids that ND has offered.
