Weis just was on a program down here in VA. He stated that it's getting harder and harder to keep recruits who commit. This recruiting with kids giving they word , then changing there minds is gonna drive him into the pro's.

That last part was your own gloss, right?

It's funny CW is taking these guys for their word and they are not staying true. That is a fact of life in recruiting of today.

that isn't going to drive him the pro's

He said on espn radio that next year they need to take a look at what the meaning of committment is.

Weis and Company need to adapt to the changing world of recruiting, which judging by the way the took Smith away from Iowa they are doing. They need to stop just counting on the elite of the elite and have some backups so they don't get boned again like what happened this year.

Enough with the NFL speculation. He has said over and over and over again that he is at ND till he dies or gets terminated.

Tez is on now. "It wasn't the money" LOL! Yes, that's how he phrased it, and it was the first thing he mentioned.

And maybe they need to take a page from Les Miles and not allow kids to visit other schools, consequence-free, once they've committed. I don't mean pull their schollies automatically (this seems foolish to me), but sit down and have a frank talk about what's going on and how we're going to go after other people in the meantime who might take your scholarship out from under you.

The only reason Charlie said that is because he doesn't think know one will pay the 25millions to buy him out. So I'm not naive to think that the Giant's isn't his real dream job.And 3 more season like this will take care of the firing part.

WTF? You have got to be kidding! You honestly think Charlie will get fired for going to BCS games and landing top 10 recruiting classes over the next 3 years. I don't know about ya'll but I'm pretty fired up about the guys we did sign and couldn't give a f**k about who we lost out on. Everyone of these guys look to be outstanding football players.

I agree. It's just that, given the paucity of players in the '08 and '09 classes, we needed more bodies.

WTF? Are you serious?
National Championship game is what it about. BCS games are glorified bowls game, that and to get blown out in them are unacceptable. So 3 more years of getting blown out and Charlie got to go.

I don't agree with the NC's or nothing Idea, but if we average one top 25 win every 2 years and keep getting blown out by the big boys....I'd say Weis could be in trouble in 3 years....but not before the end of his first 5

It looks like it'll be 3:20 instead of 2:20, and he will also be on CSTV after the current commercial break.

In the 5 media sessions I saw CW do today I thought he represented the program very well and he seems to be gaining a lot of respect from some of the media.

Weis never mentioned how he took Smith from Iowa and walker from Louisville. Its pretty hypocritical to whine about what a commitment means after you swooped in after missing your targets and offer to a verbally committed guy for months to Iowa.

If a few guys wouldve left somehwere else for ND, everybody here would make them a hero and not even bring up the other school. Since it was ND that they left, now the process needs to be looked at and kids are fucked up. Pretty screwy logic.

I heard him address it. He said if people are going to do it to his guys then he's going to do it back, but he thinks an ethics policy should be instated, along with an 2nd earlier signing day.

perhaps it's just splitting hairs here, but the smith situation seemed more like righting a wrong after he practically begged for a scholarship and received no love from the irish.

in walker's case, he reopened his recruitment after the coach he committed to bolted for greener pastures. that's fair game no matter how you look at it.

You know what, I just don't get it. Maybe I'm just not as smart as WBA, but I did listen to CW's entire interview on Rivals radio, and not once did I hear him whine. Where do you get this from? Did anybody else besides WBA hear CW whining about the Little's.? If you did please enlighten me.

I do not think it is splitting hairs. One DC did not want Smith and when he was replaced the new DC wanted to offer the kid a scholarship. It is not like he pounded the kid into submission or did negative recruiting. Smith said a long time ago that he wanted to attend ND and once the scollie was offered he told Iowa what the deal was, it was upfront and not sneaky. It did not happen the day of signing.

It is splitting hairs because it is exactly the same thing that florida, georgia and unc did in the past two weeks to ND. We blew it with smith early by not offering, and we are punishing iowa and their fans because our new DC discovered the mistake. And, what's more, I'm HAPPY we did it. And I was PISSED when other schools did it to us. That's because I'm a ND fan. I'm sure we all felt those feelings to one extent or another during the last two crazy weeks of recruiting. But, come on guys, we just sound like idiots if we try to justify why it is OK for us to do, and cry foul when another school does it. You can't be on both sides of the same issue and not look dishonest and foolish. Of course it is splitting hairs.

I don't think they're that desperate to take an out of shape grad student.
