Ask yourself this question - has the defense improved from last year?

Do not look at stats or rankings - go with your gut and answer the question. My answer is no I think it actually was better last year. Examples - USC and Mich. Look at last years games and look at this years games

I think the statistics do speak for themselves that TY took over good players and then went downhill...if you have a chance, the offenses were very poorly ranked in the 90s to 110s...

I say with a resonding, "NAY!" Let's get some defensive recruits in first and then decide on Mr. Minter. He did the best he could with a very bare stable of players on the Defensive side. Anyone know if Zorich and Stonebreaker have any more eligibility?

NAY. I think the pass yardage per game is deceptive too. It went down from 264pg to 192pg this year, but I attribute some of that to playing three option oriented service academies. Overall, the defense did not progress, or was slightly worse this year, in my opinion.

If I was a Defensive Coordinator I would bring in the best athletes with grades as well. Education is important. That's the main thing I'd be looking for. Great Defensive ball players with the grades for ND.

torn here...he's caused a stir here in tennessee after grabbing tate and smith (i'm not real opptimistic about donald however), plus let's not forget he's having to work primarily with ty's guys...i would say if it did not improve drasticaly THIS season (2007) then a change would need to be made...and i liked the idea of a former nfl'er, if one of quality is available...but i would love to see it work, charlie hired him for a reason

I think that we have to ask ourself is this just Minter.....Bill Lewis coaches the DB's and their play is terrible, I think if anyone needs to go its him. Secondly Rick Minter has always been a coach that relies heavily on strong dominating LB play....something that we lack and will continue to lack for the next couple years.

There are rumors out there that if OSU wins on Monday that the Browns may go after Jim Tressel. If this is the case, what about hiring Romeo from the Browns and reunite him with Weis?
