A good back creates his own holes. Walker can do nothing but revert to Pop Warner league antics and run sideways. I'm surprised he doesn't throw up the ball and scream when he is about to get hit. The only good thing about Walker is his durability.

Not every back is Barry Sanders. But, I guess you guys are right. He has only managed to rack up 1200 yards rushing in each of the last two seasons while we have primarily been a passing team. I guess I'm putting too much stock into a kid that come off the bench as a true freshman to rush for over 100 yards and two touchdowns to help us beat freakin' Michigan.

You're right, he sucks!

He's in select company, one of a handful of ND backs to have back to back 1000yd seasons. I don't think he is the best ever, but he is underrated by ND fans. He plays his heart out, which can't be said for everyone. And as for Thomas being a better back, which of his 50 career carries is that based on? TT fumbled more his sophmore year than DW has in 3 years.

As I and others have stated a number of times this season, D Walk will end his career as the all-time leading rusher in Notre Dame history. Sure he has his flaws, but that in and of itself should prove that he is not as bad as people want to believe.

Your still my boy D Walk.

That is the main reason Thomas never moved ahead of DW, and we are the better team for it. Thanks for your opinion Junkhead, I tried to give you some rep, but I don't think that it let me.

Thanks. I have heard the grumblings of ND fans about DW. I was at the UCLA game, and the crowd groaned everytime he got the ball. The draw play should be used sparingly, not every other running play like that game. DW is not a breakaway threat, but he was in the top 15 rushers this season, and should be respected for what he is, not what he isn't. I can think of quite a few players who were much further from their potential than DW was this season. Oh, and the rep is appreciated, even if not received.

I honestly think Walker could generate some Heisman interest if he breaks out the gates in a good way.

He reminds me a fair bit of Julius Jones. I always thought Julius was underrated, and think that DWalk is on that same level of underappreciation.

We'll see next year exactly what we have when Brady and The Shark are gone. I think if Claussen winds up starting, or whoever the QB winds up being, will look to him as often as possible, and I forsee him benefitting greatly with numbers indicative of that.

D Walk is a solid dependable back, but I would like to see Aldridge get more carries consistantly to set up for the great years to come

He'll get his carries, he is only going to be a soph next year.

JA will get plenty of carries, as will AA, as will Prince. Patience.
