I was starting to design a flash intro to firerickminter.com and realized that I porbbaly can't put too much stuff on there without ND breathing down my neck. Anybody know if they can sue me for defamation of character or something?

I figure, freedom of speech and all that, but you never know.

you don't have anything to worry about. Just don't make stuff up. However, you can have an opinion on him as a coach. There's not a thing anyone can do about that. There's all kinds of fire that someone pages. Remember the www.firetywillingham.com?

Minter was awful the first time around and even worse now. If Weiss doesn't relocate Minter to another job in another town, I believe Weiss will prove he is not up for the job either.

Any putz can look good as a dc in the sec when you can recruit any 6'6" 300lb, 4.3 - 40, 600 SAT athlete.

Irishfan. SEC has great defenses? Look at the size, speed, and SAT of its athletes, and then compare that to ND.

yes i did ask for solutions only becuase everybody is giving the same exact reasons in every post of every thread. obviously, by my solution i dont favor minter. im not pissed, just dont care either way if you agree with my opinion about where in our solution lies.

yes, the SEC does have good defenses....just curious, but in records, does it ANYWHERE mention what a defenses overall GPA is or their SAT scores? we are having mediocre athletes for the past decade but we're getting the athletes now.....we just need someone that knows how to wreak havoc as a defense and minter simply cant get it done, athlete nor scheme.

Irishfan I know you are talking about defensive coordinators, but my point is that YOU could be a great defensive coordinator if you were able to recruit great athletes (that can't cut it in the ND classroom.)

2. we're getting those athletes that can compete and compete in the classroom, we just need a DC that can recruit and teach these players....minter just isnt cut out for it, no hard feelings, just move along and ND will do the same

I am torn...I want to see him with top talent...but conversely it seems like we are doing worse than we should with the talent we have.

he had pretty good talent the first time he was here and he sucked then too.

we need to let him go because he hasn't improved the defense period.

Charlie Strong of Florida would be a superb DC. He has done well at South Carolina and Florida,plus Fla recruiting would be a big plus. He is listed as co-DC atFla and is a survivor from the Zook era.Also, he was at ND at one point. Good fit!

yea minter was at ND at one point too. Times have changed where you put 8 guys in the box and say run the ball because we know you dont' have extreme speed. Minter coached when fsu was doing their fastbreak offense in 94. YES, that is 13 years ago. He is like bobby knight, they still believe what worked 15 years ago still works today. As much as hate it when old people say it, "TIMES HAVE CHANGED!!"

If you are trying to decide if stay or go

Ask yourself this question - has the defense improved from last year?

Do not look at stats or rankings - go with your gut and answer the question. My answer is no I think it actually was better last year. Examples - USC and Mich. Look at last years games and look at this years games
